Namaste all,

Thought this may help as a graphic.

Q: how do you know which Nakshatra pada falls into which Navamsa sign ( quickly and accurately).

A: Here's a graph below - (if you are in HTML you will have no problem viewing

it… I will also attach the Excel file)

This is from Sanjay's book Vedic Remedies - page 30, thought it would help.

Example: 1st pada Krittika ( in Taurus) will go to the 10th house in Navamsa D9.

All " Number 10 " squares or padas then go to the 10th house in Navamsa.

All "1" squares go to Aries Navamsa

All " 2" square would then go to Taurus...

All "12" squares would then go to ? ____________ ( Pisces)

So , lets test this one more time:

Lets say Sani is placed in the 4th pada in Taurus ( FYI: runs 10 degrees to 13

degrees 20 min and is the 1st Pada of Rohini )

In Navamsa then it world be placed in Aries.

Say Guru is placed in the 9th Pada of Scorpio (Jyeshta, 26 degrees 40 min to 30 degrees),

Guru would the be placed in the 12th house Pisces.

Namaste Frank

your table for calculation for Navamsa is indeed

very good.So from this table the method for

calculating the navamsa may be deduced like this

1.For fiery sign(Aries,Leo,Saggitarus):Start counting

the from Aries .For example if 4th pada of Leo then it

will fall in cancer Navamsa.

2.For Earthy sign(Taurus,Virgo,Capricorn):Start

counting from capricorn. For example if 4 th pada of

taurus, starting the counting from capricorn the

navamsa will fall in aries.

3.For Airy sign(Gamini,Libra,Aquarius):Start counting

from Libra.

4.For watery sign(Cancer,Scorpio,Pisces): start

counting from cancer.

It is also worth noting that in this

method the starting sign for counting are all Movable

Signs(Aries,cancer,Libra,Capricorn)

Thanks

Vikas

Namaste Vikas,

your observation is good and very easy to apply, so let me test my

understanding. I mention this becasue your example below uses the 4th pada

each time...lets try it with another pada number to test it.

1. Fiery sign of Sag - lets say its the 7th pada.

Count 7 signs from Aries and we get Libra.

Check this with the Chart I sent yesterday and yep, I get Libra.

2. Airy sign - Gemini : take the 9th pada. Therefore count 9 signs from Libra

and we arrive at Gemini. CHeck the chart and yep, we get libra

again ( and we see this as Vargottama position)

the rule is perfect and easy to remember!

Yes, this rule is very easy to remember and to

apply. But I am not sure that we should call 9th pada

or 7th pada for a Rashi because I think the term Pada

is used for Nakshatra(each Nakshtra have 4 pada)

only. For Rashi we should call it Navamsa(each navamsa

of 3 degee and 20 minutes) for example 9th navamsa of

aries or 7th navamsa of Libra and like that. But may be

I am wrong.
