Dear Gurus & fellow-students

 

1. Lessons in Files: I had just joined the varahamihira List, &

started the first 3 assignments around Thu (my initiation day, ie 3

days back). I have d to this List today. And was just going

to from varahamihira List, when I realised that the files

section here has no lessons.

 

I attempted printing out the next, ie 4th- 6th lessons to work on the

assignments in the evenings this week; but there is some printing

problem whereby an inch of space in the right side does not get

printed. So I want to stick to reading on-line. Could someone include

atleast the first say 5 to 10 lessons or whatever, from the Vrhmihr

List to the Files section of THIS List also. Then we could continue

working on the assignments from the beginning, but on This List. So

till this is sorted out, I am not yet unsubscribing from the Vrhmihir

LIst, unless u think I should nevertheless; if so, shall do so anyway.

 

2. Enclosed assignments 1-3 :

 

Assignment 1: from Nandan Chakraborty

 

1 Definition of role of God in my life a) To guide me when I

face complicated ethical dilemmas,

b) To guide me when I consciously choose the wrong path

2 Deeds done to come closer to God in last 1 year a) More time

(BOTH quality and quantity) spent with family, each of whom, for a

variety of reasons, NOT just due to lack of time, I have been

ignoring,

b) Self-abuse: Just gave up drinking yesterday. Gave up non-veg

today. Resolved to reduce smoking sometime,

c) Resolved to start following a spiritual life-style

3 Relevant statement All is God

4 Role of Jyotish vs Role of Priest Jyotish is ONE

specific way of counselling the self & humanity to become more

spiritual, ie by understanding the specific forces that guide, or

conversely impede, that progress. He is specifically barred from

playing God. A priest would strive to do the same thing through other

means, specifically including "playing God"

 

Assignment 2: from Nandan Chakraborty

Understanding the finite (as bounded by St, the limit of the

7 planets) has the seeds for the next evolutionary stage:

of "understanding" (or what needs to be understood of) Paramatma.

Understanding beyond this finitude not perceptible thru available

apparatus granted to us

2 Planet overlordship of the 12 zodiacal signs Sn, as primal

source of all manifestation in the "understandable" part of human-

sphere

3 Areas of Nara & Narayana in 12 Earth- spokes Just couldn't

figure out from the Lesson. However, a subject-heading while archive-

worming gave this out as the Sudarshan Chakra essentially, with

Narayana in the centre & the 3 radial belts wrt Sn, Mn & Lg being

part of Nara. Haven't really understood why the Nara part should be

thus divided, as an answer to THIS question

 

Assignment 3: from Nandan Chakraborty

 

1 Dual signs for non-lumes Sn is primal energising

(male) source, which energises the female principle Mn. Thus

manifestation starts, resulting in various planets, which thus have a

male & female part each, in the domains of the Sn & Mn respectively,

ie in the 2 horas as described by the Northern & Sthn ayanas

respectively

2 Ayanas in Nativity North: Mn, Jp, Ra, Ve, Sn. S: the

other 4 planets.

3 Ayan of Mn in my chart & # days to change ayan North. Mn is

at 15* Pi. So 4.5 signs to go @ 2.25 day/ sign= just over 10 days.

4 Mantra in Bha-Chakra Aum, (Howng??, Jung??), Swaha: Don't

know

5 Order of week-days wrt order of dweepas & horas wrt speeds

Weekday order: 1st come Sun & Moon, then they allocate

alternately in order of planets next to them in the dweepa order.

Horas: exactly as per slowest to fastest wrt earth, ie St Jp Ma Sn Ve

Mc Mn.

6 Meaning of drisya & adrishya signs Visible 7-12= born

when Sn is in visible half of sky: results visible in this material

world.

Invisible 1-6= born when Sn is not in visible half of sky: results

invisible in this material world.

Also, depending on 1 vs 7 being stronger, the kendras in those halves

assume focus in life

 

PS For the vedic astrology List: The Internet was down for most of

today, which is why incidentally I sent 2 same messages (on St's

MrnSthan)thru my Lotus-Notes e-mail system, as thot the same earlier

mail had not reached. Apologies
