Guest guest
Om Hayagreevam Upaasmahe Namaste learned friends, Sanjay hinted many times at pancha tattwas during the exchange on pancha (five) mahapurusha yogas. However, I did not see anybody present any thoughts on it. I will make a couple of points to provoke you into thinking, as the hints Sanjay gave are very thoughtful and too important to ignore. * * * What is the significance of the order in which Parasara described pancha mahapurusha yogas? He described them in the followinf order - Ruchaka (Mars), Bhadra (Mercury), Hamsa (Jupiter), Malavya (Venus) and Sasa (Saturn). Why are there only 5 kinds of mahapurushas? Why not 6 or 7 (with luminaries also considered)? Does it have anything to do with pancha bhootas, the five basic elements of nature? * * * Parasara said earlier in BPHS: agni bhoomi nabhas toya vaayavah kramato dwija | bhaumaadeenaam grahaanaam cha tattwaaneeti yathaa kramam || 3-20 Meaning: The five tattwas (basic elements of nature) - fire, earth, ether, water and air - belong respectively to Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn. Interestingly, pancha maha purusha yogas are described exactly in the same order! * * * Does this mean that the five kinds of mahapurushas (great persons) described by Parasara are the five kinds of people with predominantly these 5 tattwas? * * * In that case, can a person with lagna, Sun and Moon in Cancer and Mars in Capricorn be called a great person of the element "fire"? Though he has exalted Mars in a kendra and the yoga is technically present, he is a person with predominant "water" tattwa. If Ruchaka yoga implies a great person with agni tattwa, can Ruchaka yoga be fully operative for this native of "water" tattwa?? Perhaps not.... * * * These random thoughts are just meant to provoke you into thinking. Think and do research with your chart database! Let me know what you think! Guest guest
Namaste Narasimha, > Sanjay hinted many times at pancha tattwas during the exchange > on pancha (five) mahapurusha yogas. However, I did not see > anybody present any thoughts on it. I will make a couple of > points to provoke you into thinking, as the hints Sanjay gave > are very thoughtful and too important to ignore. Since I've learnt about Mahapurusha yogas, I connected them with 5mahabhutas. Actually, description given by anciencts of predominance of certain mahabhutas was in a way similar to description of mahapurusha yoga effects. > > In that case, can a person with lagna, Sun and Moon in Cancer > and Mars in Capricorn be called a great person of the element > "fire"? Though he has exalted Mars in a kendra and the yoga is > technically present, he is a person with predominant "water" > tattwa. If Ruchaka yoga implies a great person with agni > tattwa, can Ruchaka yoga be fully operative for this native of > "water" tattwa?? Sounds interesting... I'veremebered the chart of Shri Maharishi Mahesh Yogi at once. His sun and moon are in fiery rashis. Dhanus and simha respectivelly. Ruchaka Yog on lagna(capricorn) created Mahapurusha indeed.Further more it is formed from paka lagna as well, as arudha lagna. However, the problem imposed is how to exactly determine the predominant elements. In the chart of Shri Maharishi, apart from sun and moon, jupiter, venus, and rahu are in fiery rashis. So without a doubt he is of agni tattwa personality with mars representing the agni tatwa forming mahapurusha yoga. In many occasions sun, lagna and moon will be found in different rashis, and there will be equlibrium or mixture of tattwas. Can we conlude than, that eventual mahapurusha yoga would then be operative only in cases where one tatwa dominates with corresponidng mahapurusha yoga? Well in my own chart, venus is exalted with predominance of watery elements. Most of the planets are in watery signs(If you donot have my chart, I shall attach it at request) There is the condition fulfilled. Venus representing Jala forms malavya mahapurusha from lagna, paka lagna, sitting on arudha lagna, and repeteing itself in several vargas. It is afflicted with saturn and rahu, but it is aspected by its dispositor jupiter. Rahu and saturn are venus's friends which mitigates their bad effects to an extent. Venus is superiorly strong in shadbal. So I think, venus fulfils the condition of real mahapurusha> Could you predict that oncoming venus mahadasha(starting at my age of 42) will give effects of mahapurusha? This suggestion of yours sounds very interesting and intriguing. I still hold the view that Sun and Moon must be strong for triggering and maintaining the Yoga. There is a stanza in a classical texts(I cannot think of which at the moment) that deep debilitation of sun/moon or their debilitation navamsas tend to destroy all auspicious yogas in the chart. In my chart sun is somewhat weaker in shadbal, and in netural sign. Moon is strong. If this mahapurusha fails to give its results, it will be due to sun's inability to trigger it. Or there is another possibility worth consideratin. Sun is ruler odf 9.house dharma and moon is in 8.house(14.tithi of Shukla paksha)in own sign. Sun is exalted in wimshamsha in conjunction with jupiter. Moon is well placed in vimsamsa too. Is it possible than that rulership and position of sun and moon in rashi, and their well placement in vimshamsha REDIRECT the effects of mahapurusha yogas in spiritual effects? I am just posing another important question. Since the moon and sun(the king and the queen in planetary cabinet) hold control over the yogas and their manifestation, is it than possible that their rulership, position in rashi and their strenght in Divisional charts, reveal whether any favourable yoga will manifest in spiritual, material, family or other front? To make it clear, if there is favourable yoga in the chart promising wealth, and sun and moon, are connected to 5.house, and attain strong positions in saptamsa, can we conclude than that this yoga will reveal itself through children of the native? Do you see my point? Well it's just random thinking.... Anyway, thank you for this positng, I shall surely have this in mind and browse through my database. Om Namah Narayana!
