Jaya Jagannath

Dear Ann,

What I described is the Satya Narayana Vrata (at leat the essential

part). Narayana is another name for Sri Vishnu and in this form He

transcends all beings, both animate and inanimate. Thus, everything is God

or God is everything. However, the most essential attreibute of defining Him

is Truth (Satya or Sat). This is represented by all the good qualities of

Jupiter. Thus Satya Narayana means to remember "God is Truth" and if I were

to say this in sanskrit, it is "OM TAT SAT". This truth cannot be defeated

and hence, it is Jayanta or Jaya and Vijaya the two guardians of His door

and with this single attribute, a person gets all that he/she wants in this

life and even beyond. This is the highest. The foundation of a good marriage

is truth and hence we worship Sri Krishna with the Mantra OM TAT SAT as

given in the Bhagavad Gita.

Best Regards,

Sanjay Rath
