Exactly. (1) Tajaka is Vedic Jyotish and it must've been covered in parts of

BPHS that are not available today. (2) I heard of some traditional pundits, who

don't give any readings without doing Tajaka. I heard of people who compute

Tajaka monthly charts and even hora charts (2.5 day Tajaka charts) by hand! I

guess it really depends on where you are from and which family you belong to.

If we progress lagna by one rasi FROM muntha in a year's annual chart, then it

becomes antardasa rasi as per Sudarsana chakra (SC) dasa. Its placement in natal

chart (as well as monthly Tajaka charts) becomes important. For example, if

someone was born with Aries lagna, then Ar, Ta, Ge, Cn, ..., Aq, Pi (first year

over), Ta, Ge, Cn, Le, ..., Pi, Ar (second year over), Ge, Cn, Le, Vi, ..., Ar,

Ta (third year over) etc become antardasa signs as per SC dasa (please note the

jump at the end of a year).

 

I would expect taking the above antardasa signs (monthly munthas) in natal chart

as well as monthly solar return charts (Tajaka) to give good results.

 

What you are suggesting above seems to be different, with no jump at the end of

a year. In other words, your monthly progression seems to be Ar, Ta, Ge, Cn,

...., Aq, Pi (first year over), Ar, Ta, Ge, Cn, ..., Aq, Pi (second year over),

Ar, Ta, Ge, Cn, ..., Aq, Pi (third year over) etc, for the same example I gave

above with my "monthly muntha=SC antardasa" approach.

 

We seem to differ in our methods. Is that correct, i.e. are our methods

different? If so, what is the basis of the method taught by your grandfather?

Why should progressing lagna by one rasi per month work?

 

The basis for my approach is very simple: it's based on SC dasa.

Thank you for approving my interpretation of muntha as running SC dasa sign (and

Tajaka varsha chakra as SC dasa pravesh/entry chart)!

 

BTW, I mentioned earlier that I disagree with progressing muntha at 30 deg per

year, 2.5 deg per month and 12.5 min per hora chart. Here is what I suggest

instead:

 

I suggest defining "muntha" in Tajaka annual/monthly/hora charts as the running

dasa/antardasa/pratyantardasa rasi respectively, as per SC dasa. My suggestion

is based on intuition and some practical research, as well as observation that

Tajaka annual/monthly/hora charts are nothing but dasa/antardasa/pratyantardasa

pravesh (entry) charts of SC dasa (respectively).

Sanjay: The Dasa outlined for monthly predictions is reckoned from Lagna and

not Muntha in the Varshaphala Chart. You are imposing the Natal Chart on the

Varsha Chart. I taught this method to one student..Aditya.N.Singh who has

become "famous" in Bombay for his accurate predictions. It shouws that it

works wonders.
