It will help in chanting, vegetarian cooking, worship, philosophy etc. You can accesss pages with lots of information about the Hare Krishna movement and it's philosophy. Or about Srila Prabhupada, the founder. Or if you like you'll be able to find books online such as "Coming back - The science of reincarnation" and "The Higher Taste - A guide to gourmet karma free cooking (or something like that :-). I recommend you see "Great Vegetarian Dishes" by Kurma Dasa. I think parts of it are online. I have it here at home, and it's great, especially to make vegetarian versions of many western foods. You will also find a downloadable shareware version of "Great Cakes without eggs". It is BRILLIANT!! You MUST try the Banana Lemon Cake. It works everytime, and it is just so light and delicious. Everybody who tries it will have to agree, that eggs are NOT necessary for light cakes. As well as this stuff, you'll find major scriptures if you keep seaching through, such as Bhagavad Gita and Brahma Samhita. Songs of the Vaishnava Acharyas is also online. The Chaitanya Bhagavata, one of the big scriptures narrating the Life of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, is available to download, as part of a whole site with info and pictures of Sri Chaitanya. Anyway, there's loads more stuff. Another of my favo(u)rite sites is: http://swami.simplenet.com/RealAudio/Bhajans/ There is some great music here, a lot of which you can download. You must have Real Player. I personally like the stuff by Mahatma Dasa. Prayers of the Isopanishad sounds beautiful, although it's not as clear as it might be on a tape or CD. If you have the Isopanishad in front of you, then you can hear the Shlokas being chanted. Unfortunately, this is not available for download, you have to listen to it online. The other two however are clearer and available for download. These are, Our Only Shelter part one and Our Only Shelter part 2. I personally thought these are great. Beware. If you want to download anything, there is trick here. You DON'T just click on download. No. Right click on the word download, and there should be a menu coming up which has an option such as 'Save target as' (depending on whether you use IE or Netscape etc.) Click on this and then it will download, and be saved on the computer. Anyway, I'll leave you to explore. I hope this has helped, Pursottam -------------------- This message has been sent from talk21 http://www.talk21.com/ (Text PRONTO:273571) ------ ------ eGroup home: http://www.eGroups.com/list/sjvc Free Web-based e-mail groups by eGroups.com
