Dear Sarat,

This is concerning your questions about the prasna method. There is

some error and please note this carefully for the future use:

 

You wrote:-

Step 1 : Make the prashna chart

Step 2 : Find the Arudha Lagna - The prashna Arudha indicates the

area of the problem.

 

SANJAY: The prasna Arudha Lagna gives the area to look for the "ROOT" of the

problem. The Arudha cannot be in houses 1,2,6,7,8 &12. Hence the root of the

problem cannot be in these houses. The exact problem/ query is seen from the

placement of the lord of the Prasna Arudha.

In one query which we practised, the prasna Lagna was Virgo with the

lord Mercury in debility with Jupiter in the seventh house. The Prasna

Arudha was in Gemini in the tenth showing that decision making(tenth house

ruled by mercury which is in debility) regarding direction of

life/career(tenth house) was the root problem. The Lord of Prasna Arudha was

in the seventh in debility. Hence the problem manifested in the form of a

question.."Whether to Marry or Renounce". The Mercury conjoins the 4th Lord

Jupiter and some doubts about his "Education" was also thrown in. Thus, the

placement of the lords is very vital to the manifestation of the query. This

native thought that his most nice girlfriend was a hindrance to his

spiritual path. This is wrong. His life and Career hinge around this

marriage and after marriage/ engagement, his fortunes will boom.

 

Step 3 : Ask the person concerned a number between 0 - 108.

SANJAY: Slight correction 1 to 108 instead of 0 to 108.

 

Step 4 : Divide this number by 12 (the 12 is for signs - is it) -

the Quotient + 1 indicates the planet of influence; and

the remainder indicates the rasi of influence i.e., where

the question's influence is from - am I right? Now the

remainder is to be counted from the Prashna Lagna, or

Prashna Arudha or from Aries (the 1st house). I think it

is to be counted from the Prashna lagna. Please correct me

if I am wrong.

 

Step 5 : Now divide the same number by 9 (to fix the Navamsa).

SANJAY: Correction. This is for the planet of influence as well.

 

Step 6 : The quotient + 1 will indicate the prashna rasi ( to be

counted from Aries); and the remainder is to be counted

from the chara rasi in the trines to the prashna rasi which

will indicate the Navamsa placement of the planet of

influence. Is it right? Please correct me if I am wrong,

as I have to understand the basics right.

 

DETAILED EXPLANATION

SANJAY: Let us take a number and work this out again. Say "22".

Divide 22 by 12 and the quotient is 1 and remainder is 10. The

qoutient + 1 gives the Rasi or 1 + 1=2 gives MOON as the planet of influence

and the remainder gives the sign of influence or NUMBER LAGNA as CAPRICORN.

Now, every sign has 9 Navamsa. Thus divide the number 22 by 9 and

we have qoutient 2 and remainder 4. This gives the focus or PRASNA (NUMBER)

RASI as Gemini as quotient + 1 is 2+1=3 counted from Aries. Now take the

Chara Rasi (Movable sign) in trines to the PRASNA (NUMBER) Rasi and count

the remainder from it. Here, the Chara Rasi in trines is Libra and counting

4 (Remainder) from it we again arrive at CAPRICORN the NUMBER LAGNA.

The remainder + 1 gives the placement of the Prasna Number planet from the

Lagna. Here, 4+1=5 or Leo and we have the planet as Moon. Thus NOW DRAW A

CHART AND WRITE THE NUMBER AT THE CENTER AND PLACE THE PLANET AND THE NUMBER

LAGNA IN IT TO DETERMINE THE RELATIONSHIP.

Thus it is evident that the Moon is placed in the eighth from the

Lagna and this is a very dangerous position. "Chandrastama is Maran Karaka".

If you recall, this example was given in the class for a person who had just

come at 6.30 PM (Delhi) on 9th March 1999. The Prasna chart is given below.

 

Now, THE NEXT STEP is to determine the PRASNA ARUDHA on the basis of

the NUMBER LAGNA and NUMBER PLANET. Here the NUMBER LAGNA is in the SIXTH

HOUSE from the NUMBER PLANET and the NUMBER PLANET is the MOON. Thus, draw

the Prasna Chart and find the MOON. Count SIX signs from this and we have

the PRASNA ARUDHA. The MOON is in Scorpio and the SIXTH HOUSE From this is

ARIES. Thus ARIES becomes the PRASNA ARUDHA.

 

We have already determined the Prasna Rasi as Gemini. Now, let us

examine the Prasna chart with this information.

 

DETERMINING THE QUERY:-

The Arudha Lagna is in the tenth house. Hence, the root of the problem

relates to the work place or career. The Lord of AL is placed in the 8th

house in exaltation with the 8th lord(retirement/ transfer/ termination of

job) and 5th Lord (new job or new powers)showing that the querist may have

to shift a job or seek a transfer.

You will recall that this was a correct reading.

MIND OF THE QUERIST:-

The Prasna Rasi is the 11th House and its lord Mercury goes to the 8th house

in debility. This is a Duryoga and "Backbiting" has been troubling him.

You will recall that the querist confirmed that somebody had been calling up

traders and asking for an "under table" commission in his name and he wanted

to get out of the situation. He was even prepared to resign the job as it

was very humiliating.

HIDDEN ANSWERS:-

The hidden answers are seen from the PRASNA ARUDHA and we have this in the

9th house in Aries with Saturn in debility with the Mars in the seventh from

it showing a temperamental and very bad boss. The person who has been doing

this is the boss and that the boss is a thief (Saturn). He suffers from a

strange kind of madness (Saturn-Mars in 1-7) and is presently about to

undergo a very bad phase (MOON in the 8th is what we started off with). He

will have death like suffering and will have to face very difficult days

that will be bordering insanity.

The querist confirmed this and said that he had always doubted the boss and

was in a real fix. Our advise was as clear as the reading..GET OUT OF THAT

PLACE WITHIN 15 DAYS (VENUS RULES A FORTNIGHT..15 DAYS).

Now, the doubts I have is (1) what if a person chooses a number which is

not divisible by 12 (step No.4) i.e., say 0 to 11; and (2) what if the

chosen number is not divisible by 9 (step 5) i.e., says 0 to 8. In such

an event, how do you work out the quotient and the remainder. Please

guide me.

SANJAY: OK let us take 4 and work out. (A) 4/12 = 0 and remainder 4. Thus

the NUMBER PLANET is the Sun (0+1 =1) and the NUMBER LAGNA is 4 or Cancer.

(B) 4/9 = 0 and remainder 4. Quitient + 1 gives the PRASNA RASI as Aries

(0+1=1) and counting the remainder (4) from the Chara Rasi in trines to

Prasna Rasi (Aries again) we arrive at Cancer as the NUMBER LAGNA. Now,

Place the Planet in Leo (4+1=5). Thus we have the Sun in the second from the

Number Lagna....The rest will need a Genuine Prasna chart.
