Guest guest
Das, List, I apologise for my previous email -another anecdote - it did not come out in the way my mother said it to us in tamil - inadequacies of the english language or my own disingenousness - a la kaavya. my sincere apologies.my attempt was to debunk all these labels we give ourselves and screech from the temples, the minarets and the steeples that we are the true hindus, christians, jews, muslims etc etc ad nauseam. Guest guest
Ranjiaiyer, I actually received your original message as you have intended. To me another way of expressing that is that one may call a tree an apple tree, but one "will KNOW a tree by its fruit". We know there are those who label themselves this and that, but that is not what makes them who they are. In the same vein, a person can call themselves a qualified astrologer and yet be unable to predict anything. A person can call him & herself a Guru, but not actually be able to show others the way. Here is a quote from Frank Zappa: "I am what I am. A cow does not make ham." I hope I can get away with writing that quote w/o any offence taken because I actually am a complete vegetarian myself! valist, "ranjiaiyer" <ranjiaiyer wrote: > > Das, List, > I apologise for my previous email -another anecdote - it did not come > out in the way my mother said it to us in tamil - inadequacies of the > english language or my own disingenousness - a la kaavya. > my sincere apologies.my attempt was to debunk all these labels we give > ourselves and screech from the temples, the minarets and the steeples > that we are the true hindus, christians, jews, muslims etc etc ad > nauseam. >
