Guest guest
Well stated. I hope the list takes a cue from this. Thanks. Guest guest
Dear Juliana and John, No one is trying to prove one's nation's superiority over other's. To term a simple statement that 'it took much less effort to bring Mumbai back to normalcy than New Orleans', is not being nationilostic but being very straightforward. The 'New Orleans' failure of timely relief efforts has come as a surprise to all. This kind of a situation could have been expected in a third world country but not in US, the most powerfull and the best equipped nation. There are many questions to be anwered. Much introspection regarding social norms and cooperative nature among the populace is required. The will of government agencies to help common man, irrespective of colour and creed, has to be strengthened. It is easy to close eyes to reality. But, in a nation which is divided over colour, such incidents can spark prolonged unrest. A nation is not rich because it has resources, but because it has the ability and will to organise them. My words must have hurt feelings of many. But, if common man suffers due to fault of government, it can be ignored in any nation.
