Guest guest
Namaste Ashutosh, You quoted a bible passage as follows: > > Bible says "only the meek will survive". Other translations of the Christian Bible state that the "meek shall inherit the earth". This translation has a different connotation than surviving. For years, I've been puzzled by the meaning of this passage. How can the meek inherit the earth when in fact it appears that the strongest seems to dominate worldly affairs? After learning some of the concepts given in the Bhagavad Gita, I've found a unique understanding as to how the 'meek' can inherit the earth. Aside from the inherent humility involved, the 'meek' are those who are able to recognize the true basis of physical matter. Contrary to popular belief, the basis of matter is not the physical structure of the earth. The true basis of everything on earth and the universe is consciousness. With this in mind, the 'meek' does not relish in being attached to the apparent relative materials. He knows that everything on earth is based on nothing. In scientific terms, physical matter is structured on the minutest particles of the universe which are the quarks (others say superstrings). Some scientists have now given up on discovering anymore particles since they are so small and cannot be measured by instruments. In addition, they've found that these particles behave differently when measured or observed by the mind. Therefore, the meek 'inherits' the earth by appreciating the beauty of creation for what it is, which is really the interplay of consciousness. In other words, all of the earth's materials are based on the ever changing manifestation of the Self or the Atman. There's a phrase from St. Francis of Assisi's prayer which describes the principle described above. "....It is in dying that we are born to eternal life" Dying here does not necessarily mean physical death. The word can refer to the ability to transcend the relative experience. In vedic terms, it is the ability to experience samadhi. In this sense, I'm beginning to realize that the story of the Garden of Eden has the same hidden meaning which most people do not ordinarily see in interpreting this common biblical narrative. Regards, John R. PS In my opinion, all of the thoughts above are related to the basic concepts in jyotish. > Ashutosh > > > - > Bioacoustics > Valist (AT) (DOT) Com > Wednesday, 07 September, 2005 10:40 > orleans vs mumbai > > > not to ruffle any sesitive feathers.......but their seems to be the possibility of an inevitable perspective shift comming up for all of us. > > I think that in the Guiness book of records of the future, America will be written about as the shortest ruling world power/ culture. > > Some enlightened historians might analyse that it was because America was the power/ culture which believed itself to be above the Universal laws. > > And since the world couldnt fight American economic & military clout, Nature had to step in to bring back equilibrium.
