Otherwise I am trying to predict the outlook for the US onGWB's chart which is well accepted.>> You make an interesting case for the planets> disposited by Mercury, including Mercury's dispositor> Moon and the planet that is in Mercury's sign Sun.> This inclusion of the Sun into the Mercury mix is less> common practice.I don't think so . Mercury rules Gemini and so to see the results in aMercury period we have to examine the sign Gemini.SA is the only system I am aware of that doesn't consider the non MT sign ofa planet. Are you using SA? *** Not really. I think JN Bhasin used this approach> quite a bit, ie. to understand a planet's effects,> include the planets that are in the planets signs.> This is very different from assessing a planet's> dispositor.I am a big fan of JNB. I regret that he didn't formalise his ideas into asystem .I think what you are referring to is JNB's quirky idea that because Mercurydisposits the Sun that it will act like the Sun at least to some extent. ***Right, that's Bhasin's idea (or rather, I came across it first in his books). I don't think it's otherwise that common, at least explicitly. This idea I have meditated on . In say for example GWB' s chart whenMercury rules a dasha, sub dasha , sub sub dasha , or sub sub sub sub subsub dashathen the Sun effects get activated. So Mercury and Sun get activated intandem. So the idea is that Mercury will take on Sun's qualities.Supposing a landlord runs posh apartments he will dress in suit and tie andif he runs a aqualid housing estate he might wear singlet and pants coveredin paint. So the idea has theoretical merit but has to be tested by going to one'scharts and churning through them. **Right, it seems plausible enough but I also haven't become committed to it. It may also take on more significance, if there are no or few or weak contacts with the ruling planet, Mercury in this instance. The Bush chart is a bit confusing on this> point because Mercury and the Moon exchange signs or> have a parivartana yoga.Another strong factor in the chart but hard maybe to assess in terms ofJNB's quirky idea>> I would think we can pin much of Bush's current> problems simply on Saturn's imminent station on his> Mercury-Pluto conjunction near the ascendant.> Saturn will then go back over his ascendant and> finally pass over Mercury in spring 2006. This> promises to be an extremely stressful time. I think a> stock market drop is very likely then too (perhaps it> will be the source of most of the stress).Yes Saturn is providing the stress at the moment and it is Mahadasha Lord. The trouble with GWB's chart is that the planet of career Mars is in thesecond house of wealth and family surrounded by four benefics. So heachieved power through wealth and family rather than ability. In turn he haspromoted people according to connection rather than abilityso that now he is proposing as a Supreme Court Judge who hasn't even servedas a lower court judge. If Clinton sent out the wrong meassages aboutfidelity Bush is sending out messages that life is not about ability andapplication but about connection and loyalty. He got found out in New Orleanswhen the head of the FEMA was found to have a background in horse shows. ***And yet that Mars is disposited by Sun in the 12th, more important given the absence of any aspects. Go figure. Also Mars is not the only source of career indications. 10th from Moon is Gemini which is occupied by Sun. Not bad. Sun is one of karakas for career (or at least the status side of it) and it is disposited by Mercury which is placed in the 2nd house from it (of status!) and it is tightly conjunct Pluto. I know you don't use outers, but this is a very powerful connection. >> Once Mercury dasha begins in 2006,Saturn is more malefic for Cancer's than Mercury so he may have lessstresses at some levels. Mercury however is not good for prosperity and Isee hard economic times in 2007 and 2008. ***The hard times will likely begin sooner, in early 2006. Some say they've already started! then the Pluto will> make his life that much more difficult, Sun and 3/12> lordships aside. I strongly doubt he will finish his> term.I don't see him leaving office before his term expires. There are noseparative influences on the 10th Lord which on the contrary is surroundedby four benefics and only a Saturn aspect on the 10th house.Cancers ingeneral are very difficult to overcome because in disputes ( sixth house )Jupiter the best natural benefic and it's Lordship of the 9th house areactivated. *** I guess we'll see how it all shakes out. And that means one of us will be wrong then. Gee, I wonder if that will force any change in our thinking? Nah, why bother. Astrology more fun without the tedium of science. Guest guest
Hi Chris Great to be able to talk to you again. I feel a kind of kindredship with you as we are both refugees from various lists ***Right, that's Bhasin's idea (or rather, I came across it first in his books). I don't think it's otherwise that common, at least explicitly. Only place I've seen it is in JNBs books. He also refers to it as a secret or little known rule. **Right, it seems plausible enough but I also haven't become committed to it. It may also take on more significance, if there are no or few or weak contacts with the ruling planet, Mercury in this instance. OK***And yet that Mars is disposited by Sun in the 12th, more important given the absence of any aspects. It is said that the last word is given to the Lord of the house. He will probably emerge from his two terms as a somewhat disappointing president. ***Go figure. Right chandra Lagna ia good for career. Navamsa is also extraordinary for career. There are such extraordinary combinations for career we can see how jyotish works. However the other 100 Americans born in the same ten minute time frame may not get to be President. ***The hard times will likely begin sooner, in early 2006. Some say they've already started! Yes last year of Saturn Mahadasha is going to be very hard. But once Mercury Mahadasha starts I expect the wars and catastrophes will reduce. Only the economy will weaken. *** I guess we'll see how it all shakes out. And that means one of us will be wrong then. Gee, I wonder if that will force any change in our thinking? Nah, why bother. Astrology more fun without the tedium of science. (sorry I'm just in a lamenting mood for the slow accretion of workable rules in this fantasy world of astrology that we are prisoners in.) Well we could both be right because it looks to me like his end may be not peaceful. With Mars Sun and Ketu influencing the Lagna and 8th Lord , Mars aspecting the 8th and the Lagna Lord so closely conjunct the 6th Lord of injury I hope we don't have another tragedy.
