Hey David

Post the birth data, which version you’re using, ie, 226 25 or 3

And what options you’re checking

I’m quite confident that all my versions can do correct lagnas, but often

the ayanamsa settings, and other things, on one persons screen, is what’s

causing it.

Plus, there was one bug affecting England and the Western coast of Europe for a

certain period of the late 60 and 70’s...so we’ll see if it’s

in that range. This bug was fixed in 2.5 and 3 as far as I remember.

So post them details, and I’ll have a go at it.

Since you started this on the list, keep it here. It will benefit others.

Although I am much better than before, I still have trouble keeping up with all

my email and still have a phone phobia. I’ll get there...

Thanks to everyone for toleration,

Ahh this looks easy.

It’s an Indian city, correct?

You should always enter the city name, and let the program fill in the details.

The zone 5.3, I think you mean IST or Indian Standard Time which is 5 and 1/2

hours East of GMT, which in my programs, all versions, is entered as 5.5 not

5.3

You see, that time zone field on the window in my program is a NUMERIC DECIMAL

field and NOT a “time field”, so you are essentially telling it 5

hours and 30 % of an hour, or 20 minutes, which is 10 minutes short of truth,

which is enough to move the Lagna 2.5 degrees at least.

So use 5.5 and all might be well.

Otherwise, please, just enter the city name, and tab, and leave state blank, for

India, and then enter India for country.

True, if you don’t have the city name, or if it’s not in my atlas,

then you do have to put all in manually. In that case, what I would do

personally, is enter Delhi India, then go back and change each thing you need

to change, the time zone will NOT be needing a change, as ALL of India is

always 5.5

You would only need to change everything else ;-)

Hope this helps.

I tell ya, I spent many months pondering all this circular time stuff while

programming it, and I think it’s very bad for your brain to go in circles

like that month after month. (humor)
