Guest guest
Dear Rick, I just finished listening to your knowledge CD for the first time. You cover so much, that I can't remember it all and I'll have to listen again (which is good cause I like to listen to things over and over and still get new information). I have to say that there are 2 things I liked best about your CD. First, is that you give so much detail on a wide range of topics. Somehow I was expecting the CD to be short and generalized. Kind of a "good first effort", not the in depth and excited discussion of the effect of history and culture on our lives and our spirituality. I found your subjects and your insights fascinating and I especially liked how you tied this history to how we can live more naturally and happily today. I'd never thought to tie myself into history in this way. The second best thing I liked, is that you don't lecture. Sure you cover a Lot of information, but you do it in a personal conversational style that seems like I'm at a fun dinner with interesting friends. Usually, knowledge CDs have a scripted, preachy type feel to them, which yours doesn't. When the CD ends, I feel like thinking, "I have to have dinner with Rick more often; that was a great evening." It probably helps, too, that you discuss very personal moments in your life, and hearing this in your voice instead of the email one is used to, makes it very intimate and engaging. I've enjoyed your CD tremendously, and like a really good music CD, I can enjoy it multiple times and use it as a spring board to explore some of my own thoughts about the subjects you cover and what they mean to me. The only annoying part is this: you know how when you finish a really good novel, you suddenly realize that you have to wait a year for the author to publish another one? Argh!!! Don't be annoying, man! Make more!
