Clarifications that amaze (for Patricia)

Dear Patricia,

 

I’d have to say I agree with you. I think (perhaps

without using the term Heaven) that we all go to the

same One place. Which, here between you and me, seems

a cruel joke on the people that think only Good goes

to heaven.

 

But I do think we carry around inside our own heads, a

place of Punishment. A Hell, if you will. I think we

are the only keepers, or creators, of that place. So

one mostly decent person might send themselves to this

hell for a minor infraction, while another, mostly

destructive person might never even think of self

punishment.

 

Which brings to mind one reason why the teaching of

good and evil (garden of eden story) can be such a

self destructive lesson for man.

 

And if I’m right in thinking that this place of

Punishment and the rules on how to send ourselves

there are taught to us by society, then we’d better

start thinking of more positive, productive things to

teach our children if we ever hope to actually be an

enlightened species, or successful in anything other

than destroying ourselves or each other.
