The data I have for him is: August 10, 1960 21:00 (9 PM) Malaga, Spain (in Granada) 36N43 04W25 -1:00 CET I am using Lahiri Ayanam. Here is my problem. In three of my software programs (Kala, Jagannatha Hora and Solar Fire), I am coming up with an Aquarius Lagna, anywhere from 12-28 degrees. In two other programs, *Goravani* and Haydn's Jyotish, I am coming up with a 0-degree Aries Lagna. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong here? I think it may have something to do with the time zone that is being input automatically. My ACS Atlas gives Malaga a -1 hour CET zone for the date in question. It is WEST Hi Juliana, The 15E time meridian was adopted in the area in 1946, despite the longitude being at 4W Prior to 1946 the 0W meridian for Greenwich was used. So therefore the -1 hour or CET time zone is correct (as given in the ACS atlas). Solar Fire appears to have calculated it correctly--lagna should be at 12 Aquarius (Lahiri) As a way of double checking this: check the Solar Fire software for the time of sunset that same day. Sunset was at 8:10:17 PM that evening, giving an ascendant of 24 Capricorn. 50 minutes of clock time later (reaching Banderas' time of 9:00 PM) we would expect to see a lagna somewhere in early Aqaurius (equating approx 1 degree of ascendant movement for every 4 minutes of clock time). An Aries lagna would necessitate a Cancer Sun in the 4th house (time would have to be around midnight for such a birth chart) With lagna at 12 Aquarius, Mars at 12 Taurus, Pluto at 12 Leo and Venus at 8 Leo (we have a testimony for considerable sexual prowess) Best, Steve
