It¹s been 19 years that I¹ve been with you.

19 years you have ruled my life actually.

I have triumphed,

and suffered greatly,

under your leadership.

I am not going to miss you,

But I will never forget you.

I learned a lot from you,

That I never knew before.

I am wiser. I made it. I¹m still alive.

Shani Dasha is over.

Let the light shine.

Hi Dear Rick,

Thought I'd share these quotes with you that I read about the same time as

your message came through. I'm happy to see you writing and doing well.

Love,

Patrice

These are all from 'Saturn, A New Look At An Old Devil', by Liz Greene.

"When the disciple

knows Saturn as the God

who offers opportunity and does not only

feel him to be Deity

who brings disaster,

then he is on the path

of discipleship in truth

and in deed

and not just

theoretically."

"Saturn symbolizes a psychic process as well as a quality or kind of

experience. He is not merely a representative of pain, restriction, and

discipline; he is also a symbol of the psychic process, natural to all human

beings, by which an individual may utilize the experience of pain,

restriction, and discipline, as a means for greater consciousness and

fulfillment."

"Most maligned of all the astrological symbols is Saturn, whose face as the

Beast is well-recognized but whose alternate face as the Handsome Prince is

not often considered; however, without both of these, the symbol cannot

communicate its meaning, and the interpretation has only a flat and

two-dimensional value for the individual."

"There is no fast and easy method of making a friend of Saturn. In many ways

the ancient art of alchemy was dedicated to this end; for the base material

of alchemy, in which lay the possibility of gold, was called Saturn, and

this base material, as well as having a concrete existence, was also

considered to be the alchemist himself. Modern psychology, which is

paralleling more and more the path of the alchemists, also seeks to make a

friend of Saturn although here he is called by other names. But if one is

persistent, it is possible to extract the gold, and in the end one may find,

if the effort is made, that Saturn has a sense of humour after all - when we

have become subtle enough to understand his irony."

Just few thoughts of mine as I too finished My Shani

Mahadasha last September; though Yogkarka of a very

high order for me, I wouldn't like to have Shani

Mahadasha ever in my life; I don't know what that

statement means: "The other face of Saturn is that of

a handsome prince". During my Mahadahsa, I almost came

to brink of complete devastation; I really don't know

how I got through Shani Mahadasha. Not that Mercury

Mahadasha is turning out to be any great for me, at

least life is no drudgery and full of

hardships.........I won't miss Saturn and I would like

to forget my Saturn Mahadasha. Das appears to be

enlightened soul; so I guess he says he wouldn't like

to forget Saturn.....but me, i would be good if my

mind becomes clear of all experiences of Saturn

Mahadasha.....

cheers you all out there; and das you have a good

Mercury Mahadasha......

Dear Manoj,

To understand the meaning of 'the face of a handsome

prince' I am reporting a true incident in my neighbourhood.

There lives a man in my neighbourhood who was born on 5th june 1961

at 3.56 am in Delhi, India. Presently he is running trough saturn dasha.

During jupiter period, he was involved in smuggling of gold, electronic

goods, etc. He boasts of travelling by air more than a thousand times.

He is of very dark complexion, ugly, grey haired, stocky, soft

spoken but an expert liar. Saturn dasha brought an end to his smuggling

career. A chronic alcoholic and with no savings, he became unemployed and

was on the mercy of his friends and relatives. Till january 2005, he did odd

jobs, spending all his earnings on liquor and loitering around the

neighbourhood.

All the family he had was a mother and some distant relatives. He

lived with his mother in her two room flat, but she never gave him a penny.

His bad habits have made him a chronic bachelor too.

On january 21st 2005, his mother died. Some friends and relatives

came to attend the last rites. They also paid for the rites because he had

no money. All pondered about his bleak and lonely future ahead and soon went

their way eager to escape his possible demands for some petty cash.

For one week he wandered about. Then one day, he opened his mother's

favorite trunk. There in it, he found property deeds of three flats besides

the one in which he was living. They were on lease to some banking

establishments and were giving regular income. There were fixed deposits'

documents worth Rupees 30,00000 which is around $60,000.

In all he inherited property worth $150,000.

The saturn is in capricorn in tenth house. In the first half of its

dasha, it brought him down, but then it again gave him a big chance to

revive his fortunes.

Regards,

Ashutosh.

Dear Ashutosh,

Interesting chart. Maybe the mutual aspect of Ma (cancelled debilitation)

and Sa, retrogression of Sa and the retrograde Jupiter in 10th (in

Capricorn) also need to be considered. Now, if the Mars aspect wasn't there

and Saturn wasn't retrograde, the man might have had a more even dose of

good fortune. Or, if the Jupiter conjunction wasn't there, a more even dose

of misfortune.

Cheers,

Tejpal

Dear Tejpal,

The debiliated mars and jupiter were responsible for his

smuggling career. Retrograde jupiter gave him immense luxuries and wealth

during its dasha, although from an unacceptable profession due to jupiter's

debiliation in tenth house. Saturn, put him into the right track and he left

his unlawful career. But, its retrogression gave him initial severe setbacks

and then riches.

The irony here is that jupiter's debiliation has weakened saturn's

beneficial effects. But, saturn has caused the neechbhanga of jupiter. Here,

saturn has sacrificed its powers to make jupiter a benefic.

Ashutosh.

Dear Das Goravani ji,

This is with respect to one of my mails that I had written to you wherein I had

mentioned that you may be at the fag end of some dasa which had made you write

your actual name at the end of all mails. I think that was not used to happen

earlier.

May be, Mercury has started communicating people that you are coming to your

real self.

I suppose, last 19 years must have been sheer learning and excellent growth in

the spiritual order. What Saturn given no one can.

Best regards,

Prakash Kandpal

Dear Ashutosh,

How much credence would you give the belief that retrograde debilitated

planets act as exalted? In this case, that would explain the luxuries and

wealth during Jupiter's dasa. The unacceptable profession can then be

explained by the conjunction with Saturn. Since Saturn itself is retrograde,

it's malefic nature is being made more evident (despite being in own house).

Explains the effects as well as the neechbhanga yoga by Saturn, but due to

different reasons, I suppose.

Dear Tejpal,

Debiliated retrograde planets can not act as exalted.

But, they can make one rich and successful. Every planet, exalted or

debiliated, has the power to take a person to great heights. Exalted planets

make one choose socially and legally right means of success and it is the

other way round with debiliated ones.

If we study the chart of Hugh Hefner, founder of Playboy Magazine,

we find the tenth lord in seventh but in debiliation. He has a profession

which is related to seventh house but in an ethically unacceptable way.

Debiliated planets cannot shed their negative effects on one's life,

health and family life, even if they are retrograde.

Ashutosh.

Dear Ashutosh,

That's a good example and illustrates your point well.

The discussion brings the case of Michael Jordan to mind. Retrograde,

debilitated Mars in the 4th house, hence aspecting the 10th. He achieved

fame, fortune throughout his career as a leading scorer in the NBA. He left

college in 1984 to play for the Chicago Bulls. He finished his first season

(1984-1985) as one of the top scorers in the league. He was running

Ketu:Mars from beginning till mid-1985. Jordan announced his retirement

prior to the 1993-1994 season. He ended his retirement from professional

basketball by rejoining the Bulls near the end of the 1994-1995 NBA regular

season. In the 1995-1996 season he enjoyed another great year, leading the

NBA in scoring. He was running Venus:Mars at the time.

His birth details are Feb 17, 1963, 10:20 am, 73 W 56, 40 N 38.

Cheers,

Tejpal
