Guest guest
To all members: A news article the other day stated that Michelangelo has included hidden messages in his artwork at the Sistine Chapel. Apparently, two doctors from Brazil have found symbolic body parts emblazoned in these paintings. These body parts included the 1. Brain, as depicted in the creation of Adam motif. 2. Skin, as depicted in the image of St. Bartholomew (?) who is carrying a cloak image, but really represents the method of his death, which was due to being skinned alive. The doctors have mentioned other parts like the lungs, and kidney. However, with my own collection of books, I can only verify the two images mentioned above. In general, based on my own visit to the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo appears to be artistically saying that the Divine has united with the human condition, spiritually and physically, as depicted in the brightly colored frescoes of the creation of Adam and the last judgement. Powerful message indeed! Regards, John R.
