Mr.Nadia,

Retrograde planets are seen in birth charts only if birth takes place when

planets are in retrogradse.

Mostly we find charts with direct motion of planets #8211; but it is not

uncommon to find charts with one / two / even more planets are found retrograde

in birth charts #8211;

Observations :

1.Retrogration refer to strength of planets #8211; and timing of events #8211;

while lordship of bhava / rasi do not change with retrogration.

2. In Hindu traditional systems where Shadbalas are used #8211; since a span of

area is considered in predictions #8211; retrograde motions are counted #8211;

But in latest developed systems like K.P.System #8211; the degree of a planet

#8211; with its sign lord #8211; star lord #8211; and sub lord is considered

#8211; this retrogradtion is ignores #8211; still for timing of events and in

horary - it is considered.

3. if the planet is the result giving planet and it is in retrograde motion in

transit - it gives the results when it goes to direct motion in gochara.

4. if the planet is retrograde in birth chart and if it is result giving planet

#8211; it is likely that the planet do deliver the result when it is retrograde

motion in gochara #8211; for instance in birth charts where Saturn is retrograde

#8211; and is likely to perform marriage it is likely that marriage gets settled

/ performed only when saturn is in retrogade in gochara subject t o suitability

of d/b/antara lords.

Hello

I have a question: how to interpret when a planet direct at birth goes

retrograde by progression?

Mr.Tarun

You have to first to know thw astronomical phenomena about regtrogation.

Rahu and ketu are being shadows ( no physical existence) - They are in fact

points of intersection of other planets - when other planets are moving

forward they look like moving backward.

Regarding the retrogration of other planets -

Make sure that at any given time any planet travel in its own orbit in a

forward motion with its regular speed, - Retrogration is an apparent

phenomena - recollect the experiment of putting a rod in a glass with some

water - below the level of water the road appears to have taken a bend - but

in reality there is no bend - this is an apparent phenomena -

refer to the Keplars astronomical theory - planets orbit is in an oval shape

around Sun- In an oval shape orbit at certain points when the object is

moving the diataance from the central p oint - Sun - is more than other

points. In ovel shape the distance from central point to other points differ

So whenever a planet is far off from the Sun 0 central poistion - it looks

like retarded with refence to the Earth. So planets which are subject to

retrogration (except luminaries) do apper like retarded at specific

dostances and come back to direct motion on specific points ever time.

Here you can observe the distance from sun is more than that of normal times

when the planet is in retrogation - So a retrograde planet get less exposed

to Sun heat - so less combust - so it is more stronger than in normal times

- So in Hindu astrology it is said a retrograde planet is more stronger -

this is only as far as the stregnth is considered - (malefic / benefic

nature is different to strength - malefic getting more strength - or benefic

getting more strength is an individual case study)

As regards the strength of a retrograde planet - in Shadbalas - motional

strength is attributed -

In explaining the retrograde postion is is expressed as going back and

getting direct motion - In between there is a stagnation period also - the

results mostly differ in transit results
