Guest guest
Hi, I heard that there was once a planet between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter that exploded and turned into the "asteroid belt". What is going one with this? Thanks. mike
Guest guest
Probably there was NEVER such a planet, because it could not form because of the tidal forces of Jupiter. So we have now millions of small ones, a kind of primoridal situation before planets formed in the solar system. Here is link: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/jbstoneking/jbspage4.htm Another good link on the asteroid belt: http://www.solstation.com/stars/asteroid.htm There are plenty of links out there on the subject. Here is one that also discusses the theories of Velikovsky, Zacharia Stitchen, and others. http://www.pibburns.com/catastro/othercat.htm#othercat10 Best, Steve
