In reference to your queries regarding transits vedic astrology says that

without help of Astakavarga the transit reading either from moon or lagna is

not of much meaning.

U can derive this from a simple fact that transit reading would remain same

for 1/12 th of the whole population if only the raashi postion would be

taken in to account.

The famous work Horamakaranda says. As a result of progression of the seven

planets from thire respective radical places and from lagana , a collective

factor sets in going under the name of Astakavarga. It is likely that a

planet , say for instance Sun , as aresult of his horoscopic postion in a

particular sighn , is capable of throwing out beams of influence on certain

places decalred favourable, both from his postion and from postions from

other planets, so that , such beams of influence contributed by diff.

planets may act as a catalytic agent augmenting the good effects ( or

modifying the bad effects of radical as well as transit influence.

So whenever a transit chart is fllowed for a good prediction the

Astakavarga must be studied carefully to arrive at a true meaning of the

transit.

Now as per ur second query an exchange between upachayas is considered

strong- not always.

Except exchange between kendra and kona no exchange is considered simply

fortunate on account of exchange alone.

Also outer planets have no role in vedic astrology.

the ancients speak .--

"There are numerous planets in solar system and outside but for us people of

this planet only 7 are imp. ( rahu and ketu being mathematical points)."
