Dear Ashutosh and other List Members...

Thank you for sharing this interesting _Mahabarata_

story with your astrological musings. I believe your

Prasna question was "In the near future (the next 8

months?), are we due for another nuclear attack

similar to what occurred in 1945?"

Testing the chart for validity first, we need to see

if the Lagna "fits" the question, which is called a

test for radicality in Western Horary but I do not

know what this "test" is called in Prasna Tantra.

I suppose Gemini speaks to your curiosity in asking

this question, and Gemini is the sign related to air

travel and thus, nuclear missiles. We also need to ask

if the Moon relates to the question on your mind...it

is in Sagittarius aspecting the 1st house, and this is

the sign that relates to implements of war, and the

7th house also relates to war.

The planet that the Moon last transited over is also

important to determine radicality-I believe it was

Pluto, one of the planets that relates to nuclear

devices, so I think we have a radical (valid) prasna

and can go further.

Your intention in asking is sincere in that we have

the lord of the 7th, Jupiter in mutual exchange with

the lord of the chart, Mercury. However, with Saturn

in the 1st house, I wonder if there is a slight

problem in the interpretation of this chart because

the question was not stated clearly or specifically

enough?

Some say with Saturn or Pluto (Pluto in this case) in

the 7th house, the astrologer is limited in answering

the question.

Saturn as the same degree (different rasi) as much

greater than we are.

The Gemini ascendant may indicate an unstable

situation, which we know is true, as the news tonight

was blasting fear about North Korea's nuclear missile

program again.

Prasna Tantra has many rules for specific questions

about war, but your question is so general that it is

hard for me to pin down which house to use for the

quesited (war). It can probably be the 6th or 8th.

Just using very basic Tajika principles, the querent

is the Lagna Lord Mercury at 18 degrees Pisces, and

the quesited is Mars as karyesha of the 6th house of

war in this Prasna chart. Mars is at 5 degrees

Aquarius, and the two planets are in 2/12 semisextile

but they are not within orb (they need to be about 7.5

degrees deepthamsa) so there is no aspect and the

answer would be no. If we use the lord of the 8th as

the quesited, this is Saturn which is squaring Mercury

(the querent) but again not in orb, so the answer

would be no.

I looked to see if there is Yamaya Yoga using the

outer planet Uranus, significator of sudden conflicts,

which is formed when there is no aspect between the

two lords in question and a slower moving planet is in

between them and aspecting them, but Uranus is not

within orb of Mars, so again I get a resounding "no."

Your omens were very clearly speaking about death, and

this is a conflict that I cannot reconcile except to

say they were matching your question and the deepest

fear of humanity into which you were tapping by

looking into this historical data and by asking this

question. Omens do not always mean "yes" or "no."

Sometimes, they just reflect our consciousness at the

time of the question.

I am certainly not an expert on Prasna so I welcome

anyone else's comments and suggestions.

One other thing about omens I wanted to share

happened to me when I was receiving an astrological

reading in a hotel room a few years ago. My astrologer

asked in a very compelling voice, "Why are you not

giving more professional astrological readings than

the few here and there that you are doing?" At that

moment mild chaos broke out when someone knocked at

the door (wrong room), a friend rang my room, another

friend came to the door to see if I wanted to take a

walk, my son called, then my husband, etc, etc., all

within a 5 minute period! All those interruptions

mirrored the myriad interruptions I had been

experiencing in my life during that period, which were

preventing me from focusing on a full-time

professional practice.

Best,

Juliana S.

In my previous email I meant to write that "Saturn in

the same degree as the nodes (different rasi)

indicates a fated situation that is much greater than

we might be able to comprehend with this chart."

Dear Juliana,

You have very beautifully analysed the prashna chart.

Thanks a lot. My thoughts were also centered around the two main

protagonists in the war-drama being played worldwide. Bush Jr and Osama.

Bush is a trigger happy person who is in constant search for a pretext to go

to war. But, his horoscope has the same assasination-yogas which was there

in horoscopes of the three popular Indian leaders who were assasinated

namely- Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi and Rajeev Gandhi.

There is a possibility that a female assasin will attack Bush while

saturn transits cancer. Mars in retrogration in Bush's tenth house can only

increase his desires for valorous acts. His horoscope was published in an

Indian newspaper soon after he was elected for the first time. I had noticed

the moon-jupiter combination in third house and had predicted that he will

go to war before the end of his first year of presidency. It is common

knowledge that any govt formed by a small margin of vote is unstable and

wants a war to gain public support. It happened in India with Kargil war and

in US by 9-11. In both cases intelligence failure was cited as the root

cause. But, if there is no desire to act on intelligence inputs, all

intelligence will surely fail.

Being an Indian, my thoughts are more India-oriented. Pakistan has

Aries ascendent while India has taurus. With mars in aries and saturn in

cancer (Pakistan's president Musharraf has mars in aries in his natal chart

in eighth house) the relations between both countries cannot be worse. The

recent cricket diplomacy is bound to fail.

Remember, saturn in cancer has already caused Tsunami devastation.

There is still more to come in next two and half years. The combination of

mars and saturn is good for technological advancements but we should not

forget that most and fastest technogical advancements take place when

nations are at war.

Your prashna techniques are superb. It feels good to exchange

thoughts with good astrologers like you.

Ashutosh.
