Guest guest
What is the underlying purpose of Saturn's lessons? How can a more thorough understanding of Saturn's role help empower us? Can such understanding help us harness the enormous forces of this powerful planet in our daily lives? How can we use the resources of Saturn's inestimable energy to our great benefit? >>>>>> We pay particular attention to Saturn because it remains in one sign for about 30 months, making Saturn's movement the slowest of all recognized planets. >>>>> saturn influences like sade-sati, ashtam-shani, panoti and dhaiyaa saturn influence is more when its transit sade-sati: enters the 12th sign from the lunar sign in a chart until it leaves the 2nd sign from the natal moon. (7.5 years) ashtama shani: when in 8th house from natal moon(3 years) lagna: when enters natal lagna Generally Sade-Sati comes thrice in a horoscope in the life time - first in childhood, second in youth & third in old-age. First Sade- Sati has effect on education & parents. Second Sade-Sati has effect on profession, finance & family. The last one affects health more than anything else. >>>> Saturn is frequently called the Planet of Destiny. No other planet is so deeply associated with prarabdha karma ( the operative part of pre- destiny). It is thought to be the most judicious, unrelenting and impartial dispenser of the consequences of our past actions. >>>>> Saturn is also called the Planet of Truth. It is concerned with fairness, justice, righteousness, right attitude and right conduct. It creates sorrow, suffering, deep discontentment and enmity with a view to teach the person the real truth of life. To some extent, the more a person suffers, the more he learns. >>>>>>> Saturn is a slow moving planet and promotes stability. Although it will initiate things, it brings results very slowly. It gives gradual progress and equally gradual degeneration when it makes people suffer slowly. >>>>>. Saturn is concerned with duty and responsibility, it brings the profession to the forefront. Saturn wants the person to respect his duty and obligations in whatever field of activity the person is engaged. Saturn's transits reveal the timing of career changes and when recognition for a person's achievements will come. >>>>>> The harder that ones grip is on materialistic pursuits and the stronger that ones desires are, the firmer is the grip of Saturn on such a soul. Working towards experiencing a greater sense of being united with and being part of the creation is good >>>>>>> Saturn acts as benefic when in a kendra/trikona his own sign/ Libra not be combust Natural benefics aspecting him in the middle part of the sign he occupies. >>>>>>>> Saturn in the 1st house gives good characteristics, health, wealth and leadership, fame.(here it is in own sign/exalted/the dispositor should be a kingly planet like sun etc!!!) All scientists, inventors, discoverers, explorers, martyrs, philosophers, religious leaders and social reformers, achieved their goals by the grace of this planet. Without the help of Saturn, one cannot become a thinker of a high order. By the highly beneficial influence of Saturn, a pauper can become a president; and a president can turn into a pauper due to the evil effects of Saturn. It was the influence of Saturn which ultimately brought Napoleon as well. Just as Saturn empowers, it also has the power to disrupt the mightiest just when the going is good. We can study Saturn's influence in any of the great world leaders to gain insight as to why the native was beloved leader of the people, a dictator, a tyrant or a saint. Uday Rahul. Guest guest
The sciences, reside in Kumba, in the fixed air, unmoving air, thoughts that do not change, that is science. That which is true, is Kumba, Saturn ruled, whether small or large sciences or truth covering small or larger time spands, the truth which is true has an element of Kumba in it, because truth is a thought, air, a thing you cannot see or touch, just air, ether, it's true, a perception, the perception of truth, the USE of truth. The USE of truth is what makes something strong. If a politician truly grasps the truth about where the people are, he can manipulate this truth to do huge things, that's Saturn. A yogi or priest or guru is as good as his grasp of truth, that which is unchanging, true, conceptually correct, therefore HELPFUL. So religion, medicine, science, service to others, has to have the element of truth, to work, to be real, to be helpful. Truth creates realities which if things are based on, they become "helpful". Saturn therefore has a play in the foundation of creating what is really GOOD and HELPFUL. It must be based on truth first of all, true science. This is why some religiosity is not helpful. It seems to be based on sentiment for a God, giving away one's power to an unhelpful God. That doesn't seem to be good science. It's science "until real science comes". Guest guest
Dear Friends, Without being much religious. Let me add something which comes across my mind on this topic. Kumbha is said to be Lagna of Shiva (Ishana, one who rules northeast quarter). He is said to be high up in Kailasha. His vehicle is 4th from Kumbha which is Taurus, The Bull. The 10th house(Karma) from Kumbha is Scorpio the natural 8th house controlling death and also research. Jupiter is said to be akin to exaltation in Kumbha. Is there a reason why many rituals invoke all the Gods in a water pot(Kumbha) ? The Brahma, Vishnu, Maheshwara are said to be in various portions(Neck, middle, bottom etc) of Kumbha(pot). Just few thoughts to add. Guest guest
Yes the Kumbha has great significance. Aquarius is the sign of the collective consciousness reached through the sahastrara Chakra, (Satabhishi is of course 100 petalled flower and the Sahastrara is 1000 petalled lotus) Rahu the owner of that asterism represents Kundalini. Of course rahu and ketu both relate to spirituality. But Rahu is the actual kundalini power, which is the power that has to be activated to become enlightened. In the sign of Aquarius the Kumbha being poured signifies the pouring of the individual consciousness into the sea of the collective consciousness which is what happens in the actual experience of enlightment. Its an actualisation not a mental thought process which goes beyond the thought process and can be experienced. But thats the REAL significance of the water pot. I have been invited to write a section in a book about Indian music and spirituality, where I will include more details of this and other matters. I will post on here when its published (if it goes ahead) dawn woodhouse valist, "sanjayprabhakaran" <sanjaychettiar@g...> wrote: > > > Dear Friends, > > Without being much religious. Guest guest
Dear Dawn, Rahu is the head of the serpent which has ketu as its tail. This serpent is head down and as the kundilini activates the energy of rahu starts converting into ketu. The kundilini is considered fully active when all rahu power has changed into ketu. There have been defined two kinds of energy movement, taking the Rahu and Ketu energy as equal and stationed at solar plexus. One is Adho-Gati, downwards movement which increase rahu and decreases ketu energy. The other is Urdhva-Gati, which decreases Rahu and increases Ketu energy. Urdhva-Gati has to be maintained to attain enlightenment. Adho-Gati is the natural flow in all living beings. In fact it is Rahu which is keeping the world going by increasing desires for better things and surroundings. Necessity is the mother of invention and Rahu creates the necessities. Without its energy we would still be living on branches. Guest guest
Namaste all, Souls that reach Kumbha have already joined the forces of the divine. They have overcome all their past procilivities and now serve their Divine Master in implementing his plan. The Pitcher which is the body of man, holds water which purifies. The ego here implement the divine plan and attempts to accelerate the spiritual evolution of humanity. A classic example is Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. Saturn rules two contigous areas of the Zodiac, Capricron and Aquarius, where the ego which has commenced his sattwic journey (the realisation that union with the ultimate purpose of the soul). Saturn works on the ego and puts him through heart wrenching sorrow where all his earlier self-centric thoughts, desires and emotions are removed. This process of removal is like travelling through a desolate landscape of deprivation and utter desolation. IT is here that the ego finally surrenders to the divine and is accepted by the Master. regards arun

I have Kumba rashi. The above is an accurate description of my inner feelings most of the time for end of my shani dasha, say the last 5 years, which is just now finished. Guest guest
Dear Members, I agree with many of the previous comments on Saturn. The desolation and isolation that is often felt under a transit of Saturn, is not ceated by Saturn in my opinion, but is actually a pre-existing state of mind. Saturn comes along as the planet of Truth and attempts to bring this to our attention. Saturn appears to separate and isolate us, but it simply reminds us that we are already painfully isolated. When Saturn passes, we can again resume the illusion that we have a meaningful and purposeful life. Jupiter and Venus are often there to lift us up again, and provide the 'good' things of life that make us thrive. The further one can go into the 'desert' of Saturn, when it comes around, by jumping off the cliff and letting go of the rope that tethers us, diving alone, consciously into the unknown abyss--the closer we can come to self unity by travelling away from our current life as we know it.
