April 2005 Monthly Vedic Horoscope

 

General

 

There are two eclipses this month. The April 8th solar eclipse occurs at

25 Pisces. This chart features an exalted Venus and a very close square

between Saturn and the Sun/Moon. Venus-type persons may be in the news at

this time, including artists, women or wealthy people. The Saturn square

suggests a degree of sadness and withdrawal. Persons with prominent

Pisces planets are more likely to feel the effects of the eclipse.

 

The lunar eclipse occurs on April 24th at about 10 Libra. This point is

significant because it is the point of greatest debilitation for the Sun.

This is not a favourable chart for leaders of any kind, political or

otherwise. Another interesting element of the chart is the 3-way

contraparallel involving the Moon, Venus, and Mars suggesting issues

concerning love and sexuality may be highlighted at this time.

 

Mercury goes direct April 12th at 8 Pisces. This will be another factor

that will highlight natives with prominent Pisces. Natives with strong

Gemini or Virgo charts may also find their actions and initiatives more

likely to get off the ground.

 

 

ARIES (Apr 13 - May 13) April looks like a good month for getting

things done and getting some recognition for them. Your ruling planet

Mars is exalted and sitting pretty in the 10th house now so don't be shy

about stepping up and claiming what is yours. Communications may also

figure prominently although with Mercury retrograde in your 12th you can

expect some snafus there. In general, results are more likely to accrue

in the second half of the month after Mars has entered Dhanistha and Sun

and Venus have pushed into Aries. Watch for an April Fool's surprise on

the 1st. Around the 12th, proceed with caution and make sure you have

all the relevant facts. Knees may be problem also. The 20th may bring

praise from unexpected or unusual quarters.

 

TAURUS (May 14 - Jun 14) With Venus starting off the month in Pisces

and Revati, your cash flow should be fine and you are likely to benefit

from friends. Around the 10th may be the key period for matters

pertaining to income and associates and they should go well although

initially not without obstacles. Once Venus crosses over in Aries and

Ashwini, however, your focus may change and you may become more

introspective. Alternatively, you may externalize some of that Aries

energy and you may become actively involved with foreigners, especially

students. Expect some passion or power-laden energy to enter your life

around the 11th. The 23rd may bring some pleasant recognition from

afar.

 

GEMINI (Jun 15 - Jul 15) OK, so Mercury your ruling planet is

debilitated and retrograde, but that's no excuse for sitting back and

doing nothing this month. Or just say you're meditating -- no one will

know the difference. Fortunately, all is not lost because Jupiter aspects

Mercury. The workplace may have new challenges for you and it may be

harder than usual to solve ongoing problems that crop up. Mercury turns

direct on the 12th, while Sun and Venus move to your 11th house of gains.

That opens up the possibility of the second half of April being

considerably smoother. A little sunshine comes your way around the

18th.

 

CANCER (Jul 16 - Aug 15) Career matters will likely be at the forefront

of your mind, especially in the first half of April while Mars transits

Shravana, a Moon-ruled nakshtra. Some difficulties are very possible at

this time, particularly on the 5th, but advancement and recognition are

also likely to follow soon afterwards, by the 8th. Look for more

significant developments around the 20th. While these may be somewhat

disruptive, they will also represent opportunities for growth. Hopefully,

you will be in a position to take advantage of them. A day of contentment

comes your way on the 24th that helps you feel at home in the workplace.

 

LEO (Aug 16 - Sep 15) Issues involving long term finances may

preoccupy you this month, especially in the first half of April. With Sun

transiting the 8th house, it's possible that you will feel anxious and

vulnerable on this score. Part of the problem may be the temporary 8th

house influence which can often put things in a shadowy light. Best to

reassess your situation later in the month after the Sun has moved into

Aries. You may also find yourself in a compromising or awkward situation

with a foreign woman from the 9th to the 12th. Life improves after the

15th generally. Father or authority figures win victories near the 23rd.

 

VIRGO (Sep 16 - Oct 16) Despite your ruling planet Mercury being

retrograde and debilitated for the first half of the month (ouch!), things

should be fairly good for you. Some spousal problems may arise but they

can be dealt with easily. With Mercury in Pisces, look to the gentle,

surrendering side of that sign for the answer. Expect some money or good

fortune to come your way around the 10th. Another recurring theme this

month will be a need for service. Foregoing control over work and

domestic situations for while will put you in good stead for the future.

Watch expenses on the 19th, while friends provide welcome support on the

22nd.

 

LIBRA (Oct 17 - Nov 15) April may begin with questions and

distractions that make it hard to move forward. By the end of the month,

though, life will have taken a fortuitious turn. The time around the 9th

may have you contemplating legal or health matters. Making decisions may

be difficult as not all the facts will be known. Venus' transit through

Ashwini may bring some marital stresses, particularly around the 19th.

Some good times are in store around the 23rd. Might be the annoited time

to play the horses or put your money down at the lotto counter.

 

SCORPIO (Nov 16 - Dec 14) With your ruling planet Mars exalted in the

third house this month, this is a great time for creative projects and

communications of all kinds including writing, music, art, etc. The

first half of the month would also be a great time for travelling. Your

cup runneth over on the 7th. Look for a change in tone around the 12th.

There may be some confusion or weakness at that time. After that, you

will find new energy for pursuing your goals regardless of opposition.

Expect some conflict or competition to break in your favour near the 19th.

 

 

SAGITTARIUS (Dec 15 - Jan 13) The first week of April will see

frustration in work related matters but things improve once 10th lord

Mercury goes direct after the 13th. You can use your intellectual and

communicative abilities to put your best foot forward. A patient and

methodical approach may serve you better than a flash of inutitive

insight. Home and real estate matters go well throught the middle of the

month. Your relationship is a source of happiness as well and you bear

marital responsiblities comfortably without a sense of burden.

 

CAPRICORN (Jan 14 - Feb 12) With Saturn now moving forward, it may be

easier to take new action on several things that have been sitting on the

back burner. As long as Saturn's dispositor Mercury is retrograde,

however, this may be slower than hoped. Travel and communications may

figure more prominently now, especially after the station on the 12th.

Look for some good career news around the 10th. It will likely continue

once 10th lord Venus moves into Bharani after the 22nd.

 

AQUARIUS (Feb 13 - March 13) Travel may figure prominently in your

thoughts this month. The workplace is unlikely to provide you with any

new stimulation. It might be a good time to catch up on neglected

projects. Be careful not to provoke opposition -- they may end badly for

you. Problems involving spouses are likely around the 8th. Significant

improvement in all matters after the 13th however. Do your best to resist

the frustration that may come near the 18th, which may involve foreigners

or long distance travel in some way.

 

PISCES (March 14 - Apr 12) Progress may be impeded at least until the

12th when Mercury turns direct. For further improvement, Mercury has to

first leave Uttarabhadra after the 24th for career advancement and

relationship happiness. Some positive development in finances is

possible on the 8th.

One caution this month is to avoid becoming overly optimistic and lazy.

This is a possibility when Jupiter is in Virgo. Even if things appear to

be fine, it is always helpful to formulate back up plans and keep your
