Guest guest
Before reading my answers below to these recent tech support questions, note that none of these areas were worked on in making version 2.5. In other words, these are the exact same as they were in 2.26, and in some cases, going all the way back to version 2.0, like the dashas for example. So I'm not sure why they would behave differently now. However, I AM ALWAYS OPEN to being found wrong. Computers and software have taught me to "never say never". > 1- The Lunar Parallax Correction under Preferences is not working. I got the > same calculations if it is on or off. Answer: You have to recalculate the chart after making the change. This is usually what is misunderstood by many. After making the change, double click on the chart you are interested in, then click edit, then save or ok, and the chart will recalc, then the change will show. Ideally I should save both values in the chart so that you can check/see quickly, but I have not programmed that yet. In other words, as far as I know, there is no problem with the feature itself. I am always ready to be corrected however. > 2-The Name to Find button under Open Charts is not working. I type a few > letters of the name to find, then click tab; it let me wait for a few seconds > and shows the alphabetical list of all my charts. This is perhaps again a misunderstanding. Let's clarify: When you tab it does the search based on the few letters you type, but you have to take note of the buttons there which say "Add to list" or "replace list". If "Add to" is checked, then the names matching your search are added to, perhaps down at the end of your already showing list. If you have "Replace" marked, then it will show just the results of your search, in other words, it will first clear the list. So first definitely understand add or replace. Then, note that it only searches in the checked files- charts, archive, etc. You have to have "Charts" selected for your own, "Fame" selected if you want famous people included. So the combination of these buttons matters greatly as to what you see happen when you try searching. > 3- Wrong calculation of dashas. Try double clicking on the name again. I have seen in my program that rarely the dashas "get off track" for the person, but they are recalculated when you double click in the name list to bring the chart up again, so try that. Guest guest
Dear Das Goravani Prabhu, I have had been using Haydn Huntley before I purchased GJ. I was comparing both softwares on their calculations. I find for some charts it shows same Ashtakavarga Calculations, however for some it shows different in these 2 softwares. How is it possible? I understand if it were different for all, may be they are programmed differently. For example take the following case : DOB 09/May/1968, 07-50 AM, Chitradurga, India. Sarvashtaka Varga calculations for house 1 shows 17 and house 12 shows 35 in GJ. Huntley shows 17 for 12 th house and 35 for 11 the house. That is there is a shift of 1 house all the calculations. Now I donot know which is correct? I know many who vouch for Huntley for calculations and similarly many for GJ. Best is you please check and let us know. Also Sadbala Ratios show differently in Huntley and GJ for this case. Saturn 0.88 in GJ where as 1.00 in Huntley etc,. Another example where GJ and Huntley give the same calculations for Sarvashtaka Varga Calculations is ascendent 27 and 12 th house 21 same in GJ and Huntley. Native : DOB : 25/12/1993, 14-10PM, Nanded, India. The shadbala Ratio both in GJ and Huntley is same for this native a very high 1.7 I checked some more natives. It is same in some and different in some!!! Kindly clarify at the earliest. Thanks + Best Regards, YB Prasad. - "Das Goravani" <> <valist> Saturday, March 05, 2005 10:58 AM Answers for "DAS tech support" > > > > Before reading my answers below to these recent tech support questions, > note > that none of these areas were worked on in making version 2.5.
