Guest guest
Dear List: Could anyone explain to me the difference between a planetary aspect and a rasi aspect (see below)? I understand that, for example, TR Ketu is casting a 9th aspect on NT Rahu and that TR Rahu is casting a 5th aspect on NT Sun- Saturn and a 7th aspect on TR Jupiter (I have Cancer lagna). But I am hearing some vedic astrologers saying that TR Ketu (H-3) is aspecting my Moon (H-10) by "rasi aspect." This is different and I don't understand how it works. How does a SIGN cast an aspect, and how is this different from a PLANET casting an aspect? Which is more important? And how are Rasi aspects determined? Can someone explain? Thank you. Janna http://seven_directions.tripod.com/ "The Nodes are shadows, a shadow casting an aspect itself is hard to fathom. However a node in a certain sector of Sky (a rashi or sign) will affect that sign and that SIGN will cast an aspect. (called a rashi aspect) I feel that the nodes will project their influence through rasi aspect in a secondary way to the sign they are occupying and planets in those aspected rashis will be affected. But I do not think this influence is as strong as what the node affects through House / Sign and Planetary conjunction. "
Guest guest
Hi, I think it is the Gemini Astrology and it is very complicated, according to me. And I have not mastered the Parashara Jyotish yet. If you wish, refer to BV RAMAN's book on the GEMINI or JAIMINI ASTROLOGY. Guest guest
Hello, Most will not pay attn to sign aspect but by my experiments and experiences it's a must to consider and more important than the planetary aspects. Planetary aspects are very weak and subtle, and there are controversies about Nodal aspects too. Sign aspect means all the fixed signs aspect all the movable signs and vice versa, and then all the dual signs aspect each other. Then the next thing to remember is that, when sign A aspects signs B, C, D then any planet in sign A automatically aspects signs B, C, D and also the planets in those latter three signs. For more please refer to BPHS. (Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra.) Kindly remember that Parasara talks about sign aspects long before he talks about planetary aspects, and Jaimini talks about only sign aspects. What all these behaviour of the sages imply? Frustrating that even after everything, much of the true Jyotish knowledge is still under the fog. Perhaps you can find my website useful - http://www.jyotish-remedies.com Thanks, Tanvir. Guest guest
Dear Tanvir and Juliana: Would you explain a little further in a practical way so that I can apply your explanation? For example TR Jupiter is in H-3 in my chart and also NT 3rd house (Cancer lagna). Guru casts a 1st 7th 5th and 9th PLANETRY aspect (H-3, H-5, H-7, H-9). What RASI aspect does he cast, on what houses? That is, Jupiter in Virgo is "mutable," so do you mean that Guru aspects ALL fixed signs in the chart? (In my chart this would be H-5, H-8, and H-11, H-2). What about the "cardinal" signs? Also Tanvir, what do you mean by "dual signs" in your explanation? And when "sign A aspects signs B, C, D then any planet in sign A automatically aspects signs B, C, D and also the planets in those latter three signs," are you moving clock- or sun-wise in the chart (if using S Indian style)? Does this Rasi aspect apply to both TR and NT planets? Thank you. Guest guest
To Janna... Yes, in your chart example, Guru in the dual sign of Virgo “rasi-aspects” only dual rasis, which are also known as Dwishwabhava or Mutable rasis, Sagittarius, Pisces and Gemini. Cardinal or Chara rasis only aspect Fixed or Sthira rasis, and vice versa, except for the rasi right next to it. In the case of Dual rasis, they are never next to each other so we do not have to worry about this rule for Dual rasis. So in your example chart, a planet in the Cardinal rasi of Cancer will rasi-aspect theFrasi of Leo will rasi-aspect the 4th, 7th, and 10th rasis. To see how a Raja or Dhana yoga might manifest in this Cancer Rising chart using rasi aspects, when Mars begins its extended transit of the 10th house of Aries next august, where it will be very strong and beneficial for this chart, it will be rasi-aspecting the 2nd house (Leo), the 5th (Scorpio) and the 8th (Aquarius), and this forms a yoga that MIGHT indicate financial gain through career and/or investment or inheritance, all other factors being equal, because in itself, it forms a yoga by aspect and rulership, that strongly combines the 2nd, 5th, 8th and 10th houses. Guest guest
Thank you so much, Juliana (OmSwan) for this explanation. I am self-taught in Jyotish and have only been working with the planetary aspects. This sheds a new "light," and I will continue to contemplate this more especially since in August Sani will be in H-1 conjunct NT Saturn and will cast rasi aspects in H- 5 (Scorpio) and H-8 (Aquarius) simultaneous to Mars' rasi aspects in these houses. (I think I've got it right). Hmmm. Thanks, again. —Janna satyam shivam sundaram http://seven_directions.tripod.com/ valist, Juliana Swanson <omhamsa> wrote: > woops...don't know what happened...in your example > chart, a planet in the Cardinal rasi of Cancer in the > 1st house will rasi-aspect the 5th, 8th and 11th Fixed > rasis, and a planet in the Fixed rasi of Leo in the > 2nd house will rasi-aspect the 4th, 7th, and 10th > Cardinal rasis. > > --- Juliana Swanson <omhamsa> wrote: > > > > > To Janna... > > > > Yes, in your chart example, Guru in the dual sign of > > Virgo "rasi-aspects" only dual rasis, which are also > > known as Dwishwabhava or Mutable rasis, Sagittarius, > > Pisces and Gemini. > > > > Cardinal or Chara rasis only aspect Fixed or Sthira > > rasis, and vice versa, except for the rasi right > > next > > to it.
