OM NAMO BHAGVATE VASUDEVAYA !

Respected List Members,

Hare Krishna.

I humbly submit these Prayers / Mantras for those who are in need of these

to make their lives sublime.

May Lord Shri Krishna shower His blessings upon all.

In the Vedic texts, we can find innumerable prayers and verses that glorify

the Supreme Lord and His assistants, the demigods that help manage this

universe. Much of the wisdom and spiritual knowledge that compose the Vedic

literature is given in the form of prayers. You can practically pick up any

Vedic book and find prayers that can be used for multiple purposes.

There are variety of prayers, including prayers of surrender to God, for

giving thanks, asking for protection, for seeking higher levels of

enlightenment, or our need for deeper love of God and His spiritual parts

and parcels that inhabit this planet. These prayers can also offer profound

insights or windows into the spiritual dimension, and are thus great

vehicles for our meditation on God and understanding His supremely loving

characteristics and the spiritual world. In this way, such prayers can be

used for a variety of reasons.

Some of what is not included are the Brahma-samhita, Purusha Suktam, Isha

Upanishad, Nrisimha Kavacha, the Sri Vishnu Sahasranam because these are

not the general types of prayers a person is likely to find in conventional

prayer books, but are deep with significance and spiritual sentiments for

Lord Krishna and His associates.

the planets for assistance that I have collected .

Two Peerless Mantras From the Sri Sanatkumara-samhita ;

In the Sri Sanatkumara-samhita, from the ancient Skanda Purana, we find a

conversation between the great sage Sri Narada and Lord Sadashiva, the

master of the demigods. Starting at text number 26 to text 30, Narada Muni

asks Lord Sadashiva, "O master please tell what method the people of

Kali-yuga may adopt to easily attain the transcendental abode of Lord Hari

[Krishna]. O Lord, what mantra will carry the people from this world of

birth and death? So everyone may benefit, please tell it to me. O Lord, of

all mantras what mantra needs no purashcharana, no nyasa, no yoga, no

samskara, and no other thing? A single utterance of the Lord's holy name

gives the highest result. O master of the demigods, if I am competent to

hear it, please kindly tell me the Lord's holy name."

In texts 31-35 , Lord Sadashiva gives his answer: Lord Sadashiva said: "O

fortunate one, your question is excellent. O you who wish for the welfare of

all, I will tell you the secret chintamani [wish-fulfilling] jewel of all

mantras. I will tell you the secret of secrets, the most confidential of all

confidential things. I will tell you what I have not told either the goddess

or your elder brothers. I will tell you two peerless Krishna mantras that

are the crest-jewels of all mantras.

One mantra is:

"'Gopijana-vallabha-charanau sharanam prapadye.' (I take shelter of the feet

of He who is the gopi's beloved) This mantra has three compound words, five

individual words and sixteen syllables.

"The second mantra is: 'Namo gopijana-vallabhabhyam.' (Obeisances to the

divine couple, who are dear to the gopis) This mantra has two words and ten

syllables.

In texts 36-41, Lord Sadashiva continues: "One who either with faith or

without faith once chants this five-word mantra resides among Lord Krishna's

gopi-beloveds. Of this there is no doubt. In chanting these mantras there is

no need of purshcharana, nyasa, ari-shuddhi, mitra-shuddhi, or other kinds

of purification. In chanting these mantras there is no restriction of time

or place. All, from the lowest outcaste to the greatest sage, are eligible

to chant this mantra. Women, shudras, and all others are eligible. The

paralyzed, mute, blind, and lame are eligible. The Andhras, Hunas, Kiratas,

Pulindas, Pukkashas, Abhiras, Yavanas, Kankas, Khashas, and all others born

from sinful wombs are also eligible. They who are overcome with pride and

ego, who are intent on committing sins, who are killers of cows and

brahmanas, and who are the greatest of sinners, are also eligible. They who

have neither knowledge nor renunciation, they who have never studied the

shruti-shastra and other scriptures, and all others, whoever they may be,

are also eligible to chant these mantras."

Then in texts 42-48 Lord Sadashiva explains who is not eligible and who

should not be told these sacred mantras or the purpose of them:

"Anyone who has devotion to Lord Krishna, the master of all masters, is

eligible to chant these mantras, but they who have no devotion, even they

may be the greatest of sages, are not eligible. They who have performed many

yajnas, given charity, visited all holy places, been devoted to speaking the

truth, accepted the renounced order, traveled to the farther shore of the

Vedas and Vedangas, devotedly served the brahmanas, taken birth in good

families, and performed austerities and vows, but are not devoted to Lord

Krishna, are not eligible to chant these mantras. Therefore these mantras

should not be spoken to one who is not devoted to Lord Hari, nor to one who

is ungrateful, proud, or faithless, nor to an atheist or a blasphemer. One

should not speak these mantras to one who does not wish to hear them, nor to

one who has not stayed for one year in the speaker's ashrama. One should

carefully give these mantras to one who is free from hypocrisy, greed, lust,

anger, and other vices, and who is sincerely devoted to Lord Krishna. The

sage of this mantra is Lord Sadashiva. The meter is Gayatri. The Deity is

Lord Krishna, the beloved of the gopis. The purpose is to attain service to

dear Lord Hari."

In text 53 Lord Sadashiva says: "By once chanting this mantra one attains

success. Of this there is no doubt. Still, for the purpose of chanting japa

one should chant this mantra ten times daily."

In texts 54-77 of the Sri Sanatkumara-samhita, Lord Sadashiva describes the

most nectarean meditation of the mantras, after which he continues with many

additional topics in regard to the pastimes of Radha and Krishna and the

importance of the land of Vrindavana:

"O best of brahmanas, now I will tell you the meditation of this mantra. I

meditate on two-armed Lord Krishna, who is dark like a monsoon cloud,

dressed in yellow garments, garlanded with forest flowers... crowned with a

peacock feather, and garlanded with lotus whorls, whose face is splendid

like ten million moons, whose eyes move restlessly... whose forehead is

marked with tilaka of sandal paste and musk... who is splendid with earrings

like two rising suns, whose perspiration-anointed cheeks are like two

glistening mirrors... who with raised eyebrows playfully glances at His

beloved's face, the tip of whose graceful raised nose is decorated with a

glistening pearl... whose bimba-fruit lips are splendid in the moonlight of

His teeth, whose hands are splendid with bracelets, armlets, and jewel

rings... who holds a flute in His left lotus hand, whose waist is splendid

with a graceful belt, whose feet are splendid with graceful anklets... whose

eyes are restless with the nectar of amorous pastimes, who jokes with His

beloved, making Her laugh again and again... and who stays with Her on a

jewel throne under a kalpa-vriksha tree in Vrindavana forest. In this way

one should meditate on Lord Krishna and His beloved."

"On the Lord's left side one should meditate on Sri Radha, who is dressed in

blue garments, who is splendid like molten gold... who with the edge of Her

garment covers Her graceful lotus smile, whose restless chakori-bird eyes

dance on Her beloved's face... who with Her forefinger and thumb places

betel nuts and crushed betel leaves in Her beloved's lotus mouth... whose

full, raised breasts are decorated with a glistening pearl-necklace, whose

waist is slender, whose broad hips are decorated with tinkling ornaments...

who is decorated with jewel earrings, finger rings, toe rings, bracelets,

armlets, and tinkling golden anklets... whose limbs are graceful with the

best of beauty, who is always in the prime of youth, and who is always

plunged in the nectar of bliss. O king of brahmanas, Her friends, whose age

and qualities are like Hers, devotedly serve Her with chamaras, fans, and

other articles."

"Please hear, O Narada, and I will tell you the meaning of these mantras.

The material world is manifested by the Lord's maya potency and other

external potencies. The spiritual world is manifested by the Lord's chit

potency and other internal and everlasting spiritual potencies. The

protector of these potencies is said to be the gopi Sri Radha, who is Lord

Krishna's beloved. The transcendental goddess Sri Radha is the direct

counterpart of Lord Sri Krishna. She is the central figure for all the

goddesses of fortune. She is the pleasure potency of Lord Krishna. The wise

say that She is the pleasure potency of Lord Krishna.

Durga and the other goddesses in the world of the three modes of material

natrue are a million-millionth part of one of Her expansions. She is

directly Goddess Maha-Lakshmi and Lord Krishna is Lord Narayana. O best of

sages, there is not the slightest difference between Them. O best of sages,

what more can I say? Nothing can exist without them. This universe made of

spirit and matter together is Their potency. She is Durga and Lord Hari is

Shiva. Lord Krishna is Indra and She is Shachi. She is Savitri and Lord Hari

is Brahma. She is Dhumorna and Lord Hari is Yama. O Narada, please know that

everything is Their potency. Even if I had many hundreds of years, I could

not describe all Their glories."

Vishnu Sahasra Nama, the thousand names of Lord Vishnu are also prescribed

as a remedial measures. But in this present age of Kaliyuga ( the era of

quarrel and hypocrisy ), however, a more abbreviated form of the thousand

names of Shri Vishnu is recommended in the Brihat Naradiya Purana, the text

which reads as ;

“Harer Nama, Harer Nama, Harer Nama eva kevalam,

Kalau nastyeva, nastyeva, nastyeva, gatir anyata.”

“Chant the name of Hari ( Krishna), chant the name of Hari (Krishna), chant

the name of Hari (Krishna), it is the only way, the only way, the only way

for Self -realization in the age of Kali.”

In the very beginning of Parashara’s hora shastra, the sage explains that

the different planetary deities are but direct expansions of Lord Vishnu.

The same is described in the Bhagavad Gita in Ch.10 – Text 21, Lord Shri

Krishana states, “Of the Adityas I am Visnu, of lights I am the radiant Sun,

I am Marici of the Maruts, and among the stars I am the MOON.”

Further Text 22 – ch.10 states, “Of the Vedas I am the Sama-veda; of the

demigods I am Indra; of the senses I am the mind, and in living beings I am

the living force.” Text 23 says, “Of all the Rudras I am Lord Siva; of the

Yaksas and Raksasas I am the lord of wealth (Kuvera);, of the Vasus I am

fire (Agni), and of the mountains I am Meru.” Text 24 reads, “Of priests, O

Arjuna, know me to be the chief, Brhaspati, the lord of devotion. Of

generals I am Skanda, the lord of war; and of bodies of water I am the

Ocean.” Text 25 further reads, “Of the great sages I am Bhrgu; of vibrations

I am the transcendental OM. Of sacrifices I am the chanting of the holy

names (japa) and of immovable things I am the Himalayas.” Text 32 ch. 10

also states , “Of all creations I am the beginning and the end and also the

middle, O Arjuna. Of all sciences I am the spiritual science of the Self,

and among logicians I am the conclusive truth.”.

The highest spiritual mantra for all purposes:

Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare

Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.

Thankyou. This is great. Had a few questions:

1) Is it ok to recite the planet mantras during planet maha dasas? For instance

if someone is going through Rahu-Rahu dasa, is it ok to recite the Rahu mantra,

it should only help and not hurt, right?

2) For the mantras where the Japa count is not mentioned, what is the preferred

number of times for reciting a mantra?

3) Lastly which one of the mantras can help in having children/childbirth etc?

Also, any other dos and don'ts will be helpful.

Thanks

Included are Gayatris to the Supreme, His incarnations, the demigods and

the planets for assistance that I have collected .

Gayatris and Other Mantras for Assistance

These are various gayatri mantras to the Lord and His different expansions,

and to various demigods, and the planets for particular purposes. Chanting

the following powerful mantras to the Lord and His incarnations will be

beneficial, preferably after doing your regular worship, and especially

while in the proper state of mind, and in the calm of the early morning. You

may use all of them or choose whichever may be the most applicable for your

Two Peerless Mantras From the Sri Sanatkumara-samhita ;

O best of

Hi, if I am allowed to put my answers - please look after each of your questions

-

1) Is it ok to recite the planet mantras during planet maha dasas? For

instance if someone is going through Rahu-Rahu dasa, is it ok to recite the Rahu

mantra, it should only help and not hurt, right?

Tanvir - In planetary Dashas (Maha, Antar etc.) the planet becomes much active

and gives it result and controls your life than any other planets. That is why

it is a good idea to chant the mantra of the planets controlling the Maha Dasha,

Antar Dasha and also the Pratyantar Dasha. It is good in both ways ie if the

planet has some harm to do then saving from it and also if the planet has some

good to offer then taking the maximum of it. But I do not believe in a teaching

that a planet's mantra should be done only in it's Dasha, or a planets mantra

can not be done in it's Dasha.

Based on the chart, some "life-mantra" can be given to increase the benefit

and decrease the harm. That is why the most malefic planet and the most benefic

planet must be chosen for the best effect.

What is the vital and most important thing to note is the mantra itself. There

are a lot of mantras for a single planet and you must choose it carefully. What

cheap websites teach about choosing mantra is wrong and harmful.

2) For the mantras where the Japa count is not mentioned, what is the

preferred number of times for reciting a mantra?

Tanvir - Some say 11 times, some say 108 etc. Many numbers are there. But to

me 108 is the best. You can do any general mantra for 108 times.

What you be careful about most is how you chant it. Use a Tulsi mala only. You

must learn it from a competant person, ISCKON people are the best to show you.

But add some extra rules to that say do not chant mantra while walking or

sitting then keeping the rosary on thigh etc., contrary to whoever says you

whatever (Esp for the latter). Also it's good not to chant mantras on midnight

etc. unless it is a special mantra meant for that time.

3) Lastly which one of the mantras can help in having children/childbirth etc?

Tanvir - The subject should be very particular seeing the chart and I hope you

get good guidelines from the members about choosing the planet and the deity.

Baala Gopal and Jupiter worshipping can be added as well.

A lot can be written on guidelines for a mantra shadhana. More later.

Best wishes and success on your mantra chanting.

Regards

Tanvir

YOU ARE WELCOME.

Had a few questions:

>

>1) Is it ok to recite the planet mantras during planet maha dasas? For

>instance if someone is going through Rahu-Rahu dasa, is it ok to recite the

>Rahu mantra, it should only help and not hurt, right?

YES. PRAYERS ARE ALWAYS VERY HELPFUL NO MATER WHAT CONDITION ONE IS IN.

>

>2) For the mantras where the Japa count is not mentioned, what is the

>preferred number of times for reciting a mantra?

NORMALLY TO CONCENTRATE ONE'S MIND, ONE MUST USE ROSERY. THERE ARE

DIFFERENT TYPE OF ROSERY FOR EACH AND EVERY DIFFERENT INDIVIDUAL ACCORDING

TO ONE'S BELIEF SYSTEM. THERE ARE HINDU, CHRISTIAN, BUDDHIST, MUSLIM

BELIEF ETC. AND THEY ALL HAVE ROSERY. DEPENDING UPON ONE'S BELIEF, ONE MAY

BEGIN TO RECITE ONE ROSERY OR MORE ACCORDING TO ONE'S OWN CONVICTION, AND

DEVELOP FROM THEREON PROGRESSIVELY.

THE ULTIMATE PURPOSE OF HUMAN FORM OF LIFE IS TO DEVELOP LOVE OF GOD

THROUGH SELF-REALIZATION SO THAT ONE MAY GET OUT OF THE MISERIES OF MATERIAL

SUFFERINGS. THESE MISERIES ARE THERE BECAUSE OF ONE'S FORGETFULNESS OF GOD

AND TO REMIND ALL OF US CONSTANTLY TO DEVELOP SUCH LOVING RELATIONSHIP WITH

THE GOD REGARDLESS OF ONE'S BELIEF.

THEREFORE, IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, IT IS A DUTY OF ALL COMPETENT ASTROLOGERS

TO HELP AND GUIDE PEOPLE WHO COMES FOR SEEKING ADVICE IN A PROPER DIRECTION

TO ACHIEVE THAT ULTIMATE PURPOSE OF HUMAN LIFE.

>

>3) Lastly which one of the mantras can help in having children/childbirth

>etc?

ONE MAY RECITE THE MANTRA FOR THE LORD OF 5H IF THE MOOL TRIKONA SIGN IS

THERE. IF NOT THEN LORD OF THE 2H. IF THERE IS NO M/T SIGN IN EITHER OF THE

HOUSES, THEN JUPITER AND SUN ARE VERY HELPFUL ALONG WITH THE PLANET

OCCUPIES IN 5H AND 2H, IF ANY. HOWEVER, ONE MUST CONSULT WITH THE

QUALIFIED PRACTITIONER OF THE VEDIC ASTROLOGY TO LEARN AND KNOW MORE ABOUT

IT.

>

>Also, any other dos and don'ts will be helpful.

SIMPLY RECITE THE HOLY NAME OF THE LORD AS ALL RELEGIONS TEACH AND PROCLAIM

OF THIS.

OM TAT SAT. HARI BOL.

>Two Peerless Mantras From the Sri Sanatkumara-samhita ;

>

O you who wish for the welfare

>of

>all, I will tell you the secret chintamani [wish-fulfilling] jewel of all

>mantras. I will tell you the secret of secrets, the most confidential of

>all

>confidential things. I will tell you what I have not told either the

>goddess

>or your elder brothers. I will tell you two peerless Krishna mantras that

>are the crest-jewels of all mantras.

>

>One mantra is:

>"'Gopijana-vallabha-charanau sharanam prapadye.' (I take shelter of the

>feet

>of He who is the gopi's beloved) This mantra has three compound words, five

>individual words and sixteen syllables.

>

>"The second mantra is: 'Namo gopijana-vallabhabhyam.' (Obeisances to the

>divine couple, who are dear to the gopis) This mantra has two words and ten

>syllables.

>

>In texts 36-41, Lord Sadashiva continues: "One who either with faith or

>without faith once chants this five-word mantra resides among Lord

>Krishna's

>gopi-beloveds. Of this there is no doubt. In chanting these mantras there

>is

>no need of purshcharana, nyasa, ari-shuddhi, mitra-shuddhi, or other kinds

>of purification.

>

>

They who have performed

>many

>yajnas, given charity, visited all holy places, been devoted to speaking

>the

>truth, accepted the renounced order, traveled to the farther shore of the

>Vedas and Vedangas, devotedly served the brahmanas, taken birth in good

>families, and performed austerities and vows, but are not devoted to Lord

>Krishna, are not eligible to chant these mantras. Therefore these mantras

>should not be spoken to one who is not devoted to Lord Hari, nor to one who

>is ungrateful, proud, or faithless, nor to an atheist or a blasphemer. One

>should not speak these mantras to one who does not wish to hear them, nor

>to

>one who has not stayed for one year in the speaker's ashrama. One should

>carefully give these mantras to one who is free from hypocrisy, greed,

>lust,

>anger, and other vices, and who is sincerely devoted to Lord Krishna. The

>sage of this mantra is Lord Sadashiva. The meter is Gayatri. The Deity is

>Lord Krishna, the beloved of the gopis. The purpose is to attain service to

>dear Lord Hari."

>

>In text 53 Lord Sadashiva says: "By once chanting this mantra one attains

>success. Of this there is no doubt. Still, for the purpose of chanting japa

>one should chant this mantra ten times daily."

>In texts 54-77 of the Sri Sanatkumara-samhita, Lord Sadashiva describes the

>most nectarean meditation of the mantras, after which he continues with

>many

>additional topics in regard to the pastimes of Radha and Krishna and the

>importance of the land of Vrindavana:

>

>"O best of brahmanas, now I will tell you the meditation of this mantra. I

>meditate on two-armed Lord Krishna, who is dark like a monsoon cloud,

>dressed in yellow garments, garlanded with forest flowers... crowned with a

>peacock feather, and garlanded with lotus whorls, whose face is splendid

>like ten million moons, whose eyes move restlessly... whose forehead is

>marked with tilaka of sandal paste and musk... who is splendid with

>earrings

>like two rising suns, whose perspiration-anointed cheeks are like two

>glistening mirrors... who with raised eyebrows playfully glances at His

>beloved's face, the tip of whose graceful raised nose is decorated with a

>glistening pearl... whose bimba-fruit lips are splendid in the moonlight of

>

>"On the Lord's left side one should meditate on Sri Radha, who is dressed

>in

>blue garments, who is splendid like molten gold... who with the edge of Her

>garment covers Her graceful lotus smile, whose restless chakori-bird eyes

>dance on Her beloved's face... who with Her forefinger and thumb places

>betel nuts and crushed betel leaves in Her beloved's lotus mouth... whose

>full, raised breasts are decorated with a glistening pearl-necklace, whose

>waist is slender, whose broad hips are decorated with tinkling ornaments...

>who is decorated with jewel earrings, finger rings, toe rings, bracelets,

>armlets, and tinkling golden anklets... whose limbs are graceful with the

>best of beauty, who is always in the prime of youth, and who is always

>plunged in the nectar of bliss.

>

The
