If can only afford one or two to start, would go with Braha and Frawley, then build up library with others named. Suggestions based on books I own and have read. Predictive Astrology by KB and DK Parsai is worth a look. I do not think some of the descriptions are all that good, but as 700 of the 835 pages of the book are on planets and combinations of planets in houses it is a useful reference.
