Guest guest
Hi Curt, Light on Life is the single best book I have ever read on the subject written by a Western mind. All the other books, Sutton, Braha, Dreyer, Frawley, pakle in comparison. Guest guest
Right I read and continue to refer back to Light on Life, it is really one of the best. In my 10+ years doing western ast I learned a lot from Hand, Sasportas, Tyl, Ebertin, Greene, Hamaker-Zondag, and others who gave specific planet house/sign meanings for all the planets. I am wondering if there are any modern Indian astrologers who have produced likewise giving us the unique Vedic perspective on houses and sign. Charak kind of disappointed me because his planet delineations merely restate what the classics say, and the classics are somewhat simplistic, outdated, and negative in their planet attributions. I wonder if there are any good realistic works for self-taught jyotishis like I can use. Guest guest
Hi Curt, I agree with Mu'Min- H.deFoew Book 'Light on Life' is the best- I personally like 'Greatness of Saturn' by Svoboda, but that's more on philosophy of life than strictly on astrology. /which in return is ph. of life/ Regards, Anna - "Mu'Min Bey" <mumin_bey <gjlist> Thursday, January 29, 2004 9:10 PM [GJ] More in Jyotish Books - Curt > Hi Curt, > > Light on Life is the single best book I have ever read > on the subject written by a Western mind. Guest guest
Hi Vault of the Heavens by Ernst Wilhelm is also excellent as a basic book. I prefer his style to Light on Life and it is very comprehensive. Hart told me that Light on Life would have been a much larger book if he not been forced by the original publisher to shorten it. Regards Gordon PS If you want a list of books I have one.
