Hi Cynthia,

 

Yes, I would like to have the core principles of

prasna as they have laid them out. It's a short

chapter, so it shouldn't be too much of a task. I had

them written down, but it got away from me some how,

so did the book! But anyway, yes, that is what I need.

Dear Mu

You already know the meanings of the houses; which are card. Fixed and

mutable. So what you really want is the rules for Prasna correct?

There are 7 Rules: (I've paraharased some)

Table 1

House 1 Primary questions: Change of social status, Promotion / Demotion,

Victory / Loss, Fame / Infamy Honor

 

House 4 Gains / losses especially of people, material things, money,

property, vehicles etc.

 

House 7 MAtters that are restored to their original state, returning of

lost objects, regaining health, regaining lost position in life

 

House 10 Journeys, foreign residents, being away from one's home,

immigration, relocation, travel move of residence etc.

 

Table 2

Cardinal AR, CA, LI CP answers Change

Fixed TA, LE, SC AQ No Change

Mutable GE, VI, SG, PI 0-15 deg. no change -- 15-30 change

 

Rules

1. Have a strong desire to know the answer. Review the chart to see if it

reflects the question.

Table 1 defines the relations of the question to the house, while T.2 shows

the relationship of the answer to the sign of the house of question

 

2. Answer a question, it is reuired to determine which house listing the

table 1 applies to the question. If it is difficult to determine the proper

house then you should use the lagna as the house of question

 

3. The question whould be reduced to its primary purpose. Ex. is the sale

of a house based on making money (4th house) or change in job (10th

relocation) or inheritance (1st status)

 

4. If applicable house (1,4,7 10) is occupied, receives aspect or is

besieged from adjacent houses by malefic planets (SA, MA Rahu etc) the the

person's feelings, values and expectations will be disturbed or

disappointed. A malefic planet in its own sign or aspecting its own or

exaltation shign will not yield detrimental results

 

5. If the applicable house is occupied by or receives an aspect from a

benefic then the answer will enhance the person's feelings, values and

expectations.

 

6. If a house is occupied by or receives an aspect from both a malefic and

a benefic planet, then the person's feelings...will experience both good and

detrimental effects. The resulting effect will lean toward the stronger

planets (Mal or Ben)

 

7. Timing takes place by noticing when the ruler of the house in question

or the Moon transits the original prashna chart and aspects its house of

question. Common sense should be used when dealing with time. In some

cases, you can use the changes in the nakshatras or navamsas of the slower

moving planets to time events.

 

Guidelines.

1 determine the sign in the house of question (card fixed or mut) per table

1

 

2. determine the occupation aspects or if the house of question is beseiged

 

3. finally determine the time required for the event to take place by using

the ruler of the house in question, the moon or noting when the naks or nav.

changes.
