I put smaller versions of my Celtic artwork paintings on the alpha CD of JS3

that some have now received. One of those persons sent me the following

questions, that might interest others who also got the JS3 Alpha CD:

Q: Wonderful that you included your art work on the Alpha disc....but then

why not give options for where we can find your prints for sale?

A: Good point. Truth is, I have to labor really hard to get anything done.

It's the way I am now. So each extra is really hard. I barely got the CD

done as is. So anyway...

Q: I know you said your son-in-law had them at his Celtic store. I checked

on the web (celtic.net) and came up with Celtic Products, Inc. in Eugene,

but it is an on-line store and they have not responded to my email asking if

they carry your prints. Is that the correct place? Let me know what your

son in law's business is.

A: Yes. That's it.

You'll notice on the main page it says "Prints coming soon". Well,

actually, we can do it now. Orders are welcome. It's just not streamlined.

Nor actually do we have it all figured out yet. We have 11 by 17 prints.

Those are $15 each plus shipping to you. We could have large posters made,

any size, so you can custom specify. Just know that it will cost you $12 per

square foot. So order up to 5 feet wide, and any length. So you could get a

really big wall size poster for example. Everything will be shipped in tubes

of course, or we could frame and box, but likely you'll want to choose

framing yourself.

The reason he hasn't responded is that he runs a Health Spa all day in

Eugene, so the website is the evening/weekend business. They just had a baby

(Fiona, my granddaughter, who's sitting here smiling at me right now, you

know, I get to babysit...), and so they're just busy and he like me,

sometimes misses important email because of the huge volume of SPAM going on

out there. I worry too, like he, that sometimes I'm deleted real email when

I delete all that Spam. So be sure to address important emails clearly, like

"CELTIC ORDER" or some such.

You can also send your interest or order to me at:

I don't get spam on that one yet, so I see every email. I'd be glad to get

orders handled for the prints. I'd be flattered and honored actually. I'm

amazed at how well received that artwork is. One person told me an art

teacher liked my stuff. We sold them at a Christmas gift show here in Eugene

and they went out well. Seems that music and art are the two main things

about the Celts that are really liked by many in modern times.

Peace out,

Rick MacKai at times...

Q: KellsP has me hypnotized...a slice of divinity. (one of the art prints

on the JS3 Alpha CD)

A: This is a page from the Book of Kells, painted in Ireland around 700 AD

by Celtic monks, in other words, converted natives who were allowed to use

their native artwork to decorate the gospels for the ruling or leading

monks. It's the best preserved example of Celtic art. I didn't paint it. I

wish I did, I mean, that's the zenith of Celtic artwork to me.

Anyone in Zurich? By the way, there's a fantastic Celtic artwork show at

the museum there going on right now.

I included this page on my CD because everyone should see "The Book of

Kells" at some point in their life. (Kells was a monastery in Ireland, it's

not saying "The book of Celts". The book of Kells is simply a Latin copy of

the Gospel of Christ, but decorated by "Irish Natives" who were converted to

being artists at the monasteries back then. Saint Patrick was most likely

Welsch, and thus had some feeling for preserving the Celtic culture as he

also replaced it with Christianity).

Each ancient culture seems to have it's marvels that it offers the modern

world. One of the main offerings of the Celts is their art style. It's

mesmerizing. If there is any magic in Celtic culture, it might just be the

artworks way of capturing our gaze and the Book of Kells is kindof the Crem

de la Crem of Celtic artwork. Apparently Trinity College in Dublin has

produced and sells a DVD or CD for computer about the book with pictures

included of course, and other things.

Q: By the way, you asked on the list if Jyotish had become boring in the

west. No. How could it? As long as human nature is interesting, so is

astrology. Most of the people I know aren't looking to Jyotish for

predicting stuff or figuring out remedies for their karma...just want to use

it as a fairly good mirror for themselves....I think the best remedy is to

just get a clearer picture of what we are supposed to be doing/learning this

incarnation. OK, also helps to see dasa periods to know when the best time

is to catch a wave or sit on the beach and just stare out at sea....or

paddle like crazy.

A: Thanks for your answer. I too feel it's best use is as a mirror of self,

for more self illumination, rather than getting heavily into predicting

(worrying). Life is bad enough without knowing the bad in advance!
