My chart is as follows:- date 8 april 1966 time 2 28 pm Indian standard time place Bombay(Mumbai),India. ascendant 23-16-00 cancer sun 24-41-31 pisces moon 03-15-40 scorpio mars© 29-29-13 pisces mercury 00-07-38 pisces jupiter 01-59-11 gemini venus 08-18-32 aquarius saturn 29-55-50 aquarius rahu 04-06-44 taurus ketu 04-06-44 scorpio According to my own assessment,gemstones of moon,mars and ketu should be good for me. MOON because he is my ascendant lord and debilitated.Strenthening him will strenthen the mind too. MARS because he is yogkaraka for cancer,posited in 9th house,vargottam ----The only problem being the combustion due to which he cannot cast his rays. KETU because he is beneficial to cancer lagna --- besides it is his dasha that I am running. I have not experimented with gemstones yet.Can they really do wonders? Maybe someone on the list who has benefitted from use of gems can share their experience? Do scriptures confirm the efficacy of gemstones? What is the mechanism by which they work? I have heard that gemstones have an aura of their own like the body has and this aura mingles with the body's aura enabling one to absorb rays of the planet concerned thus strenthening the effect of that particular planet. I would suggest you to wear Moon stone or good quality pearl for strengthening the ascendant Lord Moon which is weak by strength. Also, good quality white sapphire or Diamond if you can afford for strengthening Venus and good quaity of Emerald to strengthen weak Mercury. Please do not wear Cats eyes for strengthening Ketu even though Ketu is exalted but weak in strength. But if you do insist to wear, you may till its dasa ends and remove it thereafter. Therefore, please do not wear Cats eyes for Ketu at all. It is adviseable not to wear any gem stone for KETU. I think venus and mercury shouldn't be strenthened as they are malefic for cancer.Ketu is good for cancer lagna so what is wrong in wearing cat's eye?
