When analysing a horoscope, what should I look for with respect to predicting career or job changes? I know the 10th house relates to 'karma'. Where do I go from here? Lord of the 10th house and which house it has gone to? Aspects on the 10th house. The aspects 10th house lord makes on other houses. 10th house from the Chandra lagna 10th house from the 10th house. 10th house in the Navamsha The Dashamsha chart & esp 10th house in the Dashamsha 10th house strength which is determined by the strength of the lord of the And finally the Dasha you are running and if it is in anyway connected to the 10th house. 10th house is called Karma bhava ( house of ones work) and it is the most powerful kendra. While I do not consider myself to be competent enough to analyze matters like career or business and career changes to financial services and the like I will try to give a brief analysis. >From year 1991 to 2001 you ran the 10-year Mahadasha of Chandra. This probably was a good period in your life with Chandra occupying the very favorable 9th house in a friendly position. You were lucky and probably traveled extensively during this 10-year period. You were also quite fortunate financially and mostly migrated to the country you now live in. In 2001 you started the 7-year Mahadasha of Mars (Mangala) and so I will do a brief analysis of Mangala Mahadasha first. Mangala happens to be the lord of the lagna placed in the second house in Vrishabha. Mars is fairly well placed although in the neutral and maraka second house of wealth and is involved in two Dhana yogas (wealth) on the 1-2 and 2-5 axis as Venus is in the 5th. In the Navamsha Mars is again well placed in his own house Mesha (Aries) in the favorable 9th house. Mars is a friend of the rashi lagna and Navamsha lagna as he rules good houses in both the charts. Further in the Dashamsha he is again placed in Mesha in his own house, the 9th house again. I would therefore conclude that Mangala Mahadasha from June 2001 to June 2008 is going to be generally favorable especially financially. Now coming to the current focus of your life, you are in the cycle of Mars-Jupiter which you are running from Nov 2002 and due to end in Oct 2003. Guru(Jupiter) is placed in the enemy rashi of Kumbha in the 11th house with the dispositor Saturn in the 10th house, which is 12th (loss) to the 11th house. In the Navamsha although well placed in Pisces in own house it is in the 8th house. Guru is therefore not so well placed atleast in the rashi chart. From Oct 25th 2003 you will run the period of Mars- Saturn. Saturn rules the 10th house of career in the rashi and is well placed in the 10th house itself in Makara. However the conjunction of Ketu with Makara is not favorable. In the Navamsha again Saturn is in the 10th house in Vrishabha well placed but again conjunct Ketu a spoilsport. In the Dashamsha he is placed in own house Kumbha in 7th house again conjunct Ketu and the moon. Moon's placement in 7th here in Dashamsha is not favorable. I certainly expect your career to see some changes from the beginning of Oct 25th when your antardasha lord changes from guru to Shani. Shani is quite strongly configured with you career the 10th house. Since you are unemployed there is a very good chance of some major changes from this period onwards. And probably you can change to the financial field from this period onwards. Whatever decision u take make the change only in November and not before that for your decision to take some solid shape. If you make a change to a new field after November I expect your career to gain momentum from April 2006 onwards. Also because of Mangalas favorable placement you can think of making a change in career. And I think you have a pretty ok chart.
