Guest guest
Hello, My name is Michael, and i've been studying astrology for a short time. I'm trying to understand exactly what a certain aspect of my chart indicates. My concern is the fact that I have Sun and Jupiter in the 9th house. They are both in Aquarius. Jupiter is at 1 Degree, and Sun is at 2 degrees. I know that Jupiter in the 9th is very auspicious. But...it is also in the first degree of the sign, and also combust. Does this pose a serious threat to the blessings of Jupiter in the 9th? Or is it just a minor setback? Also, mercury is in the 9th too. Since Mercury has such a contrary way of learning, does this interfere with Jupiter as well as the Sun? If you'd rather see the whole chart, here's the data: 2-14-74/16:16/Springfield, OH. If anyone is willing to critique my interpretation, i'd be very grateful. It is as follows: Jupiter in the 9th, in Aquarius as well, may give the ability to understand higher philosophy, or anything of a very abstract nature. Aquarius, being ruled by Saturn, may cause a more serious approach to any undertakings towards 9th house endeavors. Since Jupiter is within 1 degree of the Sun, this may cause the individual ego to interfere somewhat with the learning processes of the 9th house. Sun in Aquarius is also ruled by Saturn. Sun considers Saturn a great enemy. Therefore, the ego is rather frightened in this position, or bullied into humility. This frightened state of the ego is what may cause some agitation, or "burning up"(combust) of the person's overall ability to attain the wisdom that the 9th house can give to Jupiter. Also, because mercury is in the 9th house as well, Mercury's method of learning may interfere, or cause confusion on the individual's path. Mercury wants to acquire information, Jupiter wants to appreciate wholeness. Sometimes it may be easier to do one, or the other. If I am way off on my interpretation, feel free to tell me. I'm still not grasping all of this entirely. Thank you Sincerely Michael Brown
Guest guest
Dear Michael You are doing fime with your interpretation . Infancy is one source of weakness giving slow , delayed or smaller results . Combustion is another source of weakness that can create ego vulnearbilities and damage the Moolatrikona house of the combust planet . Strengths and weaknesses are cumulative . Chart reading requires the complex synthesizing of many factors .. None of us are "grasping all of this entirely " ~ Nicholas - "seekingliberation" <brownmichaela40 <gjlist> Wednesday, July 16, 2003 2:21 AM [GJ] Re: Jupiter combust in 9th? > Hello, > > My name is Michael, and i've been studying astrology for a short > time. Guest guest
hello everyone, according to my interpretation u have a raja yoga (excellent combination) in the ninth house. this yoga is powerful of all raja yogas. the only affliction is sun. but mercury doesn't get afflicted by sun's closeness. also mercury has the nature of reflecting the glory of associated planet. therefore whenever mercury dasa takes place u will enjoy the benefits of raja yoga fully. the only planet to take care is moon because moon is inimical to mercury. where and how moon is related to mercury is not given by u. the position of moon is most important to determine the fruits of mercury dasa. mercury is a planet of learning and it is situated in the house of research aquarius. u r likely to be highly successful in research activities. i would love to have comments on this interpretation. thank u vikram gjlist, "seekingliberation" <brownmichaela40@h...> wrote: > Hello, > > My name is Michael, and i've been studying astrology for a short > time. Guest guest
Dear Mr Michael, Well, good interpretation indeed, but you have yet to mention about position of Sat and Ven. In fact, I wanted to tell u something thro' astro-vaastu approach, in this regard, well, it depends on u,whether u like it or not: Look, ur birth must be in a house located at sub-road, bit cornered position or near two way junction, ie. adjacent to main road, revealing ur tendency of thinking seriously in two parallel matters when it comes to take a decission in major events in your life. Secondly, major part of your uptill staying went on houses located at sub-road, ie just adjacent to main road, revealing whenever any danger seems to approach you, u very cleverly leave that part and join another, which saves u much from the effectiveness of forthcoming danger. Like intellactual association rather liking material persons, though they need ur suggestion/help/guidance. Pl confirm fr further details in the matter. With best wishes, P K Tripathy. --- gunchaman <gunchaman wrote: > hello everyone, > according to my interpretation u have a raja yoga > (excellent > combination) in the ninth house. this yoga is > powerful of all raja > yogas. the only affliction is sun. but mercury > doesn't get afflicted > by sun's closeness. also mercury has the nature of > reflecting the > glory of associated planet. therefore whenever > mercury dasa takes > place u will enjoy the benefits of raja yoga fully. > the only planet > to take care is moon because moon is inimical to > mercury. where and > how moon is related to mercury is not given by u. > the position of > moon is most important to determine the fruits of > mercury dasa. > mercury is a planet of learning and it is situated > in the house of > research aquarius. u r likely to be highly > successful in research > activities. > > i would love to have comments on this > interpretation. > thank u > vikram > > > > gjlist, "seekingliberation" > <brownmichaela40@h...> wrote: > > Hello, > > > > My name is Michael, and i've been studying > astrology for a short > > time. Guest guest
"moon is inimical to mercury." ??? Doesn't Moon not see any other planet as enemy? Mercury sees Moon as enemy, so Mercury may trouble Moon, but Moon won't inflict Mercury. regards Arthur on 16/07/2003 2:37 am, gunchaman at gunchaman wrote: > hello everyone, > according to my interpretation u have a raja yoga (excellent > combination) in the ninth house. this yoga is powerful of all raja > yogas. the only affliction is sun. but mercury doesn't get afflicted > by sun's closeness. also mercury has the nature of reflecting the > glory of associated planet. therefore whenever mercury dasa takes > place u will enjoy the benefits of raja yoga fully. the only planet > to take care is moon because moon is inimical to mercury. where and > how moon is related to mercury is not given by u. the position of > moon is most important to determine the fruits of mercury dasa. > mercury is a planet of learning and it is situated in the house of > research aquarius. u r likely to be highly successful in research > activities. > > i would love to have comments on this interpretation. > thank u > vikram > > > > gjlist, "seekingliberation" > <brownmichaela40@h...> wrote: >> Hello, >> >> My name is Michael, and i've been studying astrology for a short >> time. Guest guest
hello Mr. Arthur, thank u for ur comments but here are my doubts. u r right that moon doesn't see any other planet as enemy. but is it not true that mercury's only enemy is moon? if moon is afflicted by mercury in any way, the mind may not function in gradual and established way. thus such people will be impetuous leading to fruitless actions and waste of time. thus yoga of mercury gets weakened. hence moon's position is important. gjlist, Goloka Books <goloka@t...> wrote: > "moon is inimical to mercury." ??? > > Doesn't Moon not see any other planet as enemy? > > Mercury sees Moon as enemy, so Mercury may trouble Moon, but Moon won't > inflict Mercury. > > regards > > Arthur > > on 16/07/2003 2:37 am, gunchaman at gunchaman wrote: > > > hello everyone, > > according to my interpretation u have a raja yoga (excellent > > combination) in the ninth house. this yoga is powerful of all raja > > yogas. the only affliction is sun. but mercury doesn't get afflicted > > by sun's closeness. also mercury has the nature of reflecting the > > glory of associated planet. therefore whenever mercury dasa takes > > place u will enjoy the benefits of raja yoga fully. the only planet > > to take care is moon because moon is inimical to mercury. where and > > how moon is related to mercury is not given by u. the position of > > moon is most important to determine the fruits of mercury dasa. > > mercury is a planet of learning and it is situated in the house of > > research aquarius. u r likely to be highly successful in research > > activities. > > > > i would love to have comments on this interpretation. > > thank u > > vikram > > > > > > > > gjlist, "seekingliberation" > > <brownmichaela40@h...> wrote: > >> Hello, > >> > >> My name is Michael, and i've been studying astrology for a short > >> time. Guest guest
Hi Vikram True that Mercury's only enemy is Moon, but previously you stated Moon is inimical to Mercury and this is not the case. Whether or not Mercury will inflict problems upon Moon depends upon so many other factors. The point here is that Moon is not an inimical planet for any other planet, unless there is another rule that circumstantially changes that. regards Arthur on 17/07/2003 1:58 am, gunchaman at gunchaman wrote: > hello Mr. Arthur, > thank u for ur comments but here are my doubts. > u r right that moon doesn't see any other planet as enemy. but is it > not true that mercury's only enemy is moon? if moon is afflicted by > mercury in any way, the mind may not function in gradual and > established way. thus such people will be impetuous leading to > fruitless actions and waste of time. thus yoga of mercury gets > weakened. hence moon's position is important. > > gjlist, Goloka Books <goloka@t...> wrote: >> "moon is inimical to mercury." ??? >> >> Doesn't Moon not see any other planet as enemy? >> >> Mercury sees Moon as enemy, so Mercury may trouble Moon, but Moon > won't >> inflict Mercury. >> >> regards >> >> Arthur >> >> on 16/07/2003 2:37 am, gunchaman at gunchaman wrote: >> >>> hello everyone, >>> according to my interpretation u have a raja yoga (excellent >>> combination) in the ninth house. this yoga is powerful of all raja >>> yogas. the only affliction is sun. but mercury doesn't get > afflicted >>> by sun's closeness. also mercury has the nature of reflecting the >>> glory of associated planet. therefore whenever mercury dasa takes >>> place u will enjoy the benefits of raja yoga fully. the only > planet >>> to take care is moon because moon is inimical to mercury. where > and >>> how moon is related to mercury is not given by u. the position of >>> moon is most important to determine the fruits of mercury dasa. >>> mercury is a planet of learning and it is situated in the house of >>> research aquarius. u r likely to be highly successful in research >>> activities. >>> >>> i would love to have comments on this interpretation. >>> thank u >>> vikram >>> >>> >>> >>> gjlist, "seekingliberation" >>> <brownmichaela40@h...> wrote: >>>> Hello, >>>> >>>> My name is Michael, and i've been studying astrology for a short >>>> time. Moon is old and Mercury is very young. Neither are close to the MEP of 3rd house and consequently won't affect in any extreme way 3rd house affairs. Mercury is your 10th hse career Lord and is in the 3rd house and should favour Mercurian type brahminical activities, and a strong link with family. Moon as LO8 is a functional malefic and will consequently give rise to emotional and mental anxieties in relation to 3rd house affairs, particularly siblings. Moon normally is not inimical to Mercury but as a functional malefic as LO8 dusthana the Moon can negatively affect your Mercury. Your Mercury will naturally not co-exist peacefully with Moon. So in your 3rd house you have an old Moon and a very young mercury at odds with each other. In shadbala Moon is stronger 1.4 and so her influence will be more prominent since Mercury in shadbala is only 1.1 Moon, as LO8, is the most negative lord in your chart. She is also your atmakaraka. Another point in your chart is LO1, JU, is in the 8th house and this does not bode so well for the physical body. But there are many positives in your chart. For example, your Mars is youthful, strong in shadbala, is LO5, in the 4th, and functioning as benefic. This Mars will assist in achievements. regards Arthur > At 03:54 AM 7/17/03, you wrote: > >> Hi Vikram >> >> True that Mercury's only enemy is Moon, but previously you stated Moon is >> inimical to Mercury and this is not the case.
