It's true that it depends on many other factors also like necessity, circumstances, culture etc. But I just want to know about basic tendency of honesty. If you think about it, honesty is the opposite of dishonesty. Mars when bad can make criminals, which by necessity must be dishonest. Honesty is a type of surrender, selflessness, letting "what is" reign, rather than creating some falsity. Falsity is sometimes encouraged by the nodes, when they are being bad, as they can rule "smoke and mirrors" and "illusions". Jupiter is basically the planet of Truth. Saturn is also about Truth. But Saturn can more easily have falts. Pure placements will cause more truth, especially if involving Saturn and Jupiter. Venus if hot or bothered can lead to lust which can necessitate untruth or attachment, which leads to "letting lies stand" in order to achieve ends. So a lusty person may not directly lie, but neither will they stand for truth at certain times. A strong Saturn regardless tends to cause "the truth" to surface all around it, as it is "very real".
