nodes in 1st house w/saturn

Since the subject has been on the nodes, I decided to jump in with

this question....

At the time of my birth, Saturn and Ketu were both in the 1st house.

What I am wondering about is the closeness of the 2 planets in

degrees. Saturn is at 4 degrees/26 minutes, while Ketu is at 2

degrees. As a result of being so close together, do they interfere

with each other? Also, I am currently in a ketu

mahadasha....Ke/Sa/Ke. Do these planets conflict with each other?

I want to give my interpretation, just to see wether i'm heading in

the right direction, or if i'm way off track here.

I know Saturn and Ketu are both dark and malefic, and have a lot of

potential to be cumbersome on the self if in the first house,

especially in childhood(an indication of 1st house). May develop a

negative outlook or perception towards life. Saturn-low class,

worker, influencing individual dharma. Ketu, perhaps unusual

physical traits, since 1st house deals with the physical body in

general.

I know both planets have some similar concerns with spirituality.

Yet, they have some differences too...which is my main concern. Do

these differences conflict due to their closeness? Do the nodes have

the ability to cause or participate in a planetary war? or are the

nodes an exception to wars like the sun and the moon?

If anyone could shed some light....it would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes books alone aren't enough.

Peace,

Om Shree Gurave Namah

Dear Michael,

With Saturn and Ketu conjunction its preferred to have some

influence of Venus in it. Do you have it?.

Warm Regards

Yes when planets are less than 5 degrees apart they are bound to affect each

other

Also, I am currently in a ketu

Ketu's energies are not really compatible with Saturn . On the positive side

both are deep thinking philosophical planets which you have in your Lagna

Yes Saturn is a pessimist and Ketu never feels right at home with the world

Saturn-low class,

Partly depends here on what houses Saturn rules

Ketu, perhaps unusual

Yes .

The nodes do not participate in planetary war but generally they afflict the

planets they are closely conjunct .

Saturn seeks stability but Ketu is often transforming so in the 1st house

the native may find a lack of stability in his life or not be happy with

the directions that his life turns .

or are the

Yes the concept of planetary war is not applied to the nodes

Thank you Nicholas, for helping confirm suspicions, as well as

clarify a couple of concepts I was unsure of. The books and programs

I have on Jyotish sometimes can only answer more acute or simpler

questions.

Dear S. Prabhakaran,

Thank you also for your regards. As far as the influence of Venus is

concerned... I'm gemini Lagna, with Venus in the 8th. Therefore,

from what I've learned of Jyotish so far, Venus is not really helping

out any problems created in the 1st house. However, there are a

couple of things about Venus that may have to be considred before I

jump into any conclusions. It is Vargottama, which improves its

strength somewhat, and I am also going through Venus Mahadasha

beginning February, 2005. Wether this will help or not with the 1st

house, or simply make things worse(8th house is generally considred

kind of rough), i'm still trying to understand before the mahadasha

comes around. Just mentally preparing myself ahead of time.

If you have the time, feel free to comment wether Venus does have any

influence towards the 1st house. (in case you need more

data....February 14, 1974 springfield, OH 4:16pm).

Thank you very much for your reply to the original question.
