Guest guest
Hello Everyone, Namaste I am a beginner to Jyotish and would like to understand a placement in my chart. I have no one in South Africa who I can refer to as there are no qualified Jyotishis here and hence have to rely on all you wonderful souls to assist in learning. I have Saturn conjunct Mercury in my second house in Pisces. Does this bring about a limitation of ones earning potential. I am currently in my Jupiter Mahadasha, so would my earning capacity change when I enter my Saturn Mahadasha in a few years time, in Jan 2012?? Also, what are my career potentials with Ketu in the 10th. I have been interested in all things esoteric since December 2002. My birth details are: Bipin Prag (Male) DOB: 24 April 1966 Time: 1:30am (accurate birth time) -2 EET Place : Pretoria Cape Town, South Africa, 28E10, 25S45 Thank you all for your wonderful contributions, even if we don't reply, just remember that some of us do read them as they are great for learning and studying Jyotish. Mercury is primarily the 8th Lord and is debilitated and so is not helpful generally .There may be periods of frustration in terms of wealth and status . Saturn looks to be harder . It is in infancy and it gets a close aspect of Ketu . The Ketu Saturn conjunction then falls in the 10th in Navamsa . > > Also, what are my career potentials with Ketu in the 10th. I have been > interested in all things esoteric since December 2002. Ketu is also on the rising degree of the 10th house causing an affliction . There may be changes of jobs or one might have to wait a long time to get the results of his hard work . You started Ketu Bhukti in December 2002 and Ketu is quite a spiritual and philosophical planet .People with Ketuin 10th are more inclined to study than climbing corporate ladders .Jupiter on the rising degree in the 5th would make one very interested in accumulating sacred knowledge and wisdom .Interesting chart that you have there is a dichotomy between the attainment of wealth income and status and the persuit of spiritual lore .Best of luck resolving it ! Hope this helps Nicholas
Guest guest
Dear Nicholas Thank you for the wonderful reply. You put a lot of things in perspective for me. I am doing just fine at the moment. My only frustration is what I guess Saturn is the cause is limiting my income. I have sufficient to get me by, only thing is that I want to have at least build up sufficient capital for say 3 years so that I can study Jyotish Full time - that is my real wish - who know it may happen some day. Could you recommend what gemstone I should use. Am I correct in saying that I should were a Yello Sapphire or Citrine for Jupiter seeing that I am in my Jupiter Mahadasha or should I be wearing Emerald for Mercury disposition. I read that one has to be careful wearing Blue Sapphire for Saturn, but with it being strong in my chart would it be beneficial to me. Many thanks again and I do appreciate the feedback. Guest guest
Dear Mr. Bipin, As Mr. Nicholas has already replied to your queries, I am adding a little. Although Saturn is your benefic planet but its weakness and it is afflicted by malefic Ketu can cause obstructions in desired status through profession, gains, social esteem and fear/problem in health & longevity. The current period of Jupiter/Ketu till Dec.2003 seems to be obstructive & difficult. The coming subperiod of Venus will bring some benefic change but it will have some limitations as Venus is placed in the house of afflicted Saturn. The coming main period of afflicted Saturn will be more difficult than the current one of benefic well placed Jupiter. Strengthening of Saturn by wearing of Blue Sapphire /Kavach and performing of propitiations for malefic Rahu,Ketu will be helpful. With best Wishes. Guest guest
Dear Bipin Thanks for the feedback . I think Narinder has answered your question on gemstones . I wouldn't worry too much about Saturn Mahadasha .Firstly weak periods have good phases and strong periods have troublesome phases or parts . Therefore Krishna recommends to try and stay equipoised . Also there is an exchange between the 2nd and 5th Lords so there are a few good influences on the 2nd house . I don't know of any courses that I could recommend if anyone else has taken a course that they found highly profitable please advise the list . I live in Melbourne ,Australia . Guest guest
Hi Bipin, Right now you are in jupiter MD and jup is in 5th house. This is the reason for your interest in spirituality/occultism. Right now you are running sade-sati which will be over when saturn leaves gemini. After sade-sati ends, you will be gradually freed from obstacles you may be facing now. RE saturn in 2nd -- saturn is benefic for you being lagna lord. One quality of saturn is that he never destroys the house he resides in. saturn enhances by presence and destroys by aspect. --- so saturn in 2nd protects and enhances wealth.saturn dasha will give you wealth. Ketu in 10th and profession -- ketu makes one do strange things if in 10th.Besides ketu is a functional malefic for you and ruins the 10th house.Profession wise your horoscope is not good. But it is good spiritually. vivek. Guest guest
Dear Fayyaz, The third house does govern siblings. But I have not heard of saturn in 3rd destroying the next born. What effect a planet gives by being present in or aspecting a particular house depends primarily on the planets disposition towards your lagna. For example:- for taurus or libra lagna, saturn is yogkaraka.so a question arises -- will saturn's aspect on a house destroy it for these lagna's? It will not as saturn, even if a natural malefic, is totally good for these lagna's.so he will do good both by presence and aspect. better by presence. If saturn is malefic by rulership,he will destroy by aspect(most destructive is 10th aspect) but his presence in a house will always protect it as a rule. Please note that even if saturn's aspect does good to a house(libra/ taurus) he will afflict a planet posited there.thus if you have moon there saturn will affect mind. if you have venus there he will restrain your pleasures, etc. vivek. Guest guest
Thanks for your reply. What i wrote was what i heard from a noted Sri Lankan astrologer. Moreover, this is exactly what Saturn in the Third house for my Taurus Lagna did to me.I have three elder brothers.Next born to me was a sister who died when she was about two years old. After that i have two sisters & two brothers. Guest guest
Dear Fayyaz, Saturn is yogkaraka for you.Since he is in 3rd house, you will have no problems with your siblings ---- unless of course there is another aspect to the house which would have to be considered too. I am not sure about saturn in 3rd destroying the next born.I have not heard of such a rule in astrology.Maybe some enlightened member on this list can throw light on this. Best wishes, vivek. Guest guest
Dear List Members, Affliction to the Mars, 3rd Lord and placement of malefic planet in the 3rd house & 9th house near the Most effective point of ascendant, can delay & deny the next siblings. In all the ascendants Saturn should not be treated as a malefic planet and only in Cancer, Virgo & Pisces the placement of Saturn or other malefic planets in above mentioned houses or affliction to Mars can cause obstructions in next siblings.
