Using Junior Jyotish

on May 5 2003 the ayanamsha was 23 degrees 54 minutes

On May 5 1903 the ayanamsha was 22 degrees 31 minutes

Thus in 100 years the ayansmha changes by approximately 1 degree 23 minutes (

assuming the rate of progression of teh eqionoxes is uniform)

Therefore using this date of 1 - 1 -1155 Tarun Chopra comes up with a current

ayamsha of 12 degrees 4 minutes although this is bad maths since

8.48 centuries X 1 degree 23 minutes comes to a figure of about 11 1/2 .

This was Tarun's earlier ayanamsha .

Tarun hasn't explained why the sidereal zodiac coincided with the tropical zodiac on 1-1-1155 .

Nor has he explained why his ayanamsha was changed .( it is now about 12 degrees 4 minutes)

Generally the constellations correspond to known stars and so the Ayanamsha

question revolves around where Aries actually starts .

This may lead astrologers to conclude that Aries might start a couple of

degrees either side of where Lahiri starts Aries . However twelve degrees

difference from Lahiri ( as proposed by Tarun Chopra) is clearly

astronomically absurd .

 

In conclusion then Tarun's ideas on ayanamsha are astronomically ludicrous ,

speculative ( unexplained ideas) , contains bad maths and are subject to

change .

These ideas have no credibility in the jyotish community .

Those who have used Systems Approach have no reason to question the Lahiri ayanamsha .

HI TO EVERYONE, AM SYAM AND BEEN A MEMBER OF THIS GROUP,THOUGH NOT

ACTIVELY ENOUGH. BUT I USED TO READ THE MESSAGES THAT WERE POSTED.OK NOW LETS

COME TO THE MATTER. I CALCULATED A CHART USING LAHIRI OF 22-3-285 AND

CALCULATED SAME WITH TROPICAL. BUT THE DEGREES DOESNT COINCIDE EXACTLY.BUT IF I

USE AN AYANMSA 1-1-1155 AND 50.27 AND ERECT A CHART OF 1-1-1155 USING THIS

AYANAMSA AND TROPICAL THEY ARE EXACTLY SAME!!!. WHAT DOES THIS IMPLY?? IS

LAHIRI WRONG??. IS THIS NEW ONE RITE?? CAN ANY ONE THROW SOME LIGHT ON IT PLZ.

I HAVE STARTED LEARNING ASTROLOGY FOR THE PAST 1 YR OR SO AND FIND THIS

POINT ABOUT AYANAMSAS BIT CONFUSING. THE ABOVE AYANAMSA VALUE IS BY MY
