12.0pt">There has been much talk of our ability as astrologers to predict the

outcome of games and the following is my analysis of the possible outcome of a

highly emotive game tomorrow. Any

contest between Ireland and England has the possibility of giving rise to old

wounds and none more so than now as we witness the current invasion of the

US/UK army into Iraq. There will

be a strong support for England to be defeated in this battlefield.

12.0pt">This commentary is not about the world crisis that has been created by

the UK/US coalition but an attempt at forecasting the result of the game of

Rugby tomorrow. Ireland are

the outsiders in this competition, not having won this series in 55 years, but

are playing very well at the moment.

England is the strong favourite even though they are playing in

Ireland. Those of you who read

this must also appreciate that I have a definite bias and therefore my forecast

is likely to be flawed. Also a

warning to those who would like to try these techniques, it has been my

experience that while I was doing this for fun my predictions achieved 80%

accuracy but as soon as I went to the bookies it all went wrong!! My failures

in this as in all other

areas of my life also work very well to keep me humble.

METHOD 1

12.0pt">The game will start with Cancer rising and therefore the AL

representing the favourite will be in Virgo with no planets while the A6 is

Aquarius with Venus involved in a mutual exchange with Saturn and Moon. While

both signs receive an aspect from

their lords, the A6 is stronger due to having 2 planets and will appeal to the

masses having the Moon.

12.0pt">The 2nd technique involves assessing the strength of each

team using the start of game chart. The favourite is read from the1st

house and the 7th house represents the opposition.

12.0pt">With this technique we analyse the 1st, 5th and

10th houses for each team.

12.0pt">ENGLAND

1st

House is Cancer with Jupiter exalted and retrograde getting

an aspect from the 8th lords RA and SA from Taurus and from Moon and

Venus (lord of obstruction) from 8th house Aquarius.

5th

House is Scorpio with Ketu getting an aspect from Jupiter and

opposition from Saturn and Rahu.

10th

House is Aries Sun in 12th and Rahu/Sa in 2nd

limiting its expression.

12.0pt">Mars is Yogakaraka for Cancer rising and as lord of 5th and

10th in 6th

will put up a great fight but with its dispositor retrograde 8 signs away will

have to face many difficulties.

1ST

House is Capricorn receiving an aspect from Sa/Ra/Ju/Ke with

its Obstruction lord Mars in 12th and receiving beneficial argala

from Venus and Moon. i.e. lots of support

5th

House is Taurus with Rahu exalted and Saturn 1st

house lord in exchange with Venus 5th and 10th house

lord.

10th

House is Libra with its lord Venus involved in exchange with

1st house lord.

12.0pt">Venus is Yogakaraka for Capricorn rising and as lord of 5th

and 10th involved in an exchange with the Lagna lord gives great

strength to succeed and be victorious.

12.0pt">The Moon gives a strong indication of who will be favoured by the stars

and for this game he is providing Argala to Capricorn and conjoined Venus will

favour a win for the outsider.

12.0pt">The significator for Rugby is probably Jupiter as the people who play

are usually big bulky people who are gentle in disposition. Also they like to form circles of

support around each other and make ground by long kicking of the ball. It is

very much a team sport requiring constant supportive play between each

other. Also as there can be a bit

of Rahu in there as they tend to work with secret codes, the ball is not quite

round and it tends to be somewhat unpredictable on how it will land. As

Jupiter is retrograde I am

assuming he will give reverse results and behave as if he were in Capricorn and

oppose Cancer the favourite.

METHOD 3

yes"> - The winner is very dependant on the time of

end of game.

12.0pt">The 3RD technique is using the chart for the game like a

clock. We watch the degrees of the chart tick away and as the manager and/or

the most significant players planets connect with the degree rising on the 1st,

4th, 7th 10th axis they will surely

score. The Manager whose planets

are closest to the degree rising at the end of game will be victorious. For

this method we need the birth data of the Managers and players, which can be

difficult to obtain, the date of birth is usually available on the Internet but

the time is not available and therefore I work with the Sunrise chart. This

method has been the most reliable even without precise birth data and it is one

I learned in my Western Astrology days.

My initial success with this had people waiting for my next prediction

to go to the bookies but the greedy energy it created made me stop doing it for

the public.

12.0pt">The mood of the game on Sunday is likely be full of tension with the

Lagna lord Moon in the 8th getting the 10th aspect of

Saturn. Mercury who adds the fun

factor is debilitated and further aggravated by the 4th aspect of

Mars. Rahu and Saturn aspect the

Ascendant which all indicates a hard fought match with many injuries and bad

feeling between the teams. Mars who is responsible for putting scores on the

board (10th lord) is in the 6th house showing the points

will be through hard work and determination.

12.0pt">The game starts with 15degrees of Cancer rising and it will finish with

the Ascendant at 3-5degrees of Leo.

There is usually injury time so the game can finish sometime between 15.45

and 15.55.

12.0pt">Before the Lagna changes to Leo at 15.25 scoring will be very slow with

Ireland getting 4 chances and England getting 2.

yes"> Once the Ascendant changes during the last quarter of the

game things will get heated up with Mars adding stress to the Lagna lord Sun in

the 8th house.

12.0pt"> The English Manager, Clive

Woodward, has Mars at 1 degree of Scorpio, which is likely to give them a

considerable advantage at approximately 15.30 while Eddie O’Sullivan, the Irish

Manager, has to wait until 15.45 for his next major scoring chance from the Sun

at 5degrees. If the game finishes

after15.45 it will likely be an Irish win.

12.0pt">Brian O’Driscoll is captain of the Irish team and at the start of game

his natal Jupiter will be in the 1st house exalted. Mars is exalted in Capricorn conjunct

the Sun. While these planets are

angular they are all at degrees less than 15 and this can indicate that their

time is past, therefore while he will work very hard he may not get the scores.

The Sun is involved in a mutual exchange with Saturn and this will bring him

into the limelight as the game progresses. The end of game has Rahu and Saturn

rising but at late degrees of the sign; maybe because of the exchange with

Saturn we will get the effect of the Sun.

12.0pt">Martin Johnson, the English captain, has Mars and Saturn in Aries and

Jupiter in Libra angular at the start of the game.

yes"> Again the degrees are less than 15 and he will also struggle

to get the scores. He will have

Ketu rising at the end of the game with 3 planets in the 7th showing

very powerful opposition.

12.0pt">Neither captain has a planet close to the angles at the end of the game

leaving the Manager’s planetary positions to decide depending on the time the

match finish. The outcome is

more likely to be a surprising finish and will make interesting viewing. This

type of activity is great for

learning how the planets and charts perform live without the usual complexity

of the human condition. If the prediction is wrong the only people hurt will be

the speculators.
