Guest guest
Hi Renu, All, Yes, there are numerous classics that suggest several things when 3 or more planets reside in the same house. I have heard about how in some cases this can suggest spiritual growth and development; I have also read where more negative things can happen, such as the person can be a miser, or his/her children will be sickly, etc. Generally speaking, from a Vedic astrological perspective, the more spread out a chart's planets are throughout said chart, the better. This is because, each planet has its own specific sphere of influence, and does not have to share space with any other planet. Whenever 3 or more planets are in the same house, there is the tendency of not knowing which master to follow, so to speak. Things can get confusing, like trying to listen to many voices at once. The complexities can be demanding, and, if there are not counter-balancing factors elsewhere in the chart, it can go totally out of control. George W. Bush has 3 planets in his 1st house, if I recall - Saturn, Venus and Mercury. These planets speaks volumes to the many faces he presents to the world - his "uniter, not a divider" face, and his more recent "ride em cowboy" face. I have 3 planets in the 10th house - Mars, Jupiter and Ketu. Other than Astrology, I have always been in a fog as to what I should do with myself, going from job to job, of different kinds. The Nodes' association with the 10th house, in any chart, whether its with any other planets or not, usually suggests a roller-coaster ride when it comes to career matters anyway - but in my case, it just heightens things when we throw in Mars and Jupiter into the mix. But because Jupiter and Ketu have something in common to the extent that both like to ponder the deeper meanings of the universe, we can see the possibility of a career involving themes that have to do with interests that above that of the average man. That has been the case for me. In that Jupiter is also the Asc Lord for my chart, its association with two other planets also suggests that my personality and character is much more complex than it would appear on the surface. I have a good friend who has the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Ketu all in the 12th house in Virgo. He clearly has interests in the metaphysical arts, and like me, has gone from job to job. He currently works in a job that allows him to deal with issues that are a bit closer to his love, the metaphysical. Mercury being exalted does help things greatly here, as it rules the naksatra the Moon is in his chart - the Moon is in the 10th house in Cancer. It would be interesting to consider what would happen if this were not the case. As far as spiritual indications are concnered, I have found that the Sanyasi Yoga - which is formed when 3 planets (some say 4) are in the 10th house, with the 10th lord without any planet being combust by the Sun - tends to follow the classical dictum about multiple planets and spirituality. I personally do not have many charts with such a combination in them though, and that is perhaps a reflection of the society in which I live - one that focuses more on material attainments and goals than in spiritual questing to which India, classical and modern, holds in such high esteem.
