Guest guest
I heard someone say that while Americans are very giving, the American public often waits until it sees the first sign of wounded before it is moved to give to established aid and relief organizations. I wonder how relief organizations can afford to get to a place where they are needed, set up their special treatment and relief centers, and give food, medicine, and clothing to victims. They must be receiving advance donations and supplies from farsighted donors. They will probably require much, much more than they are starting out with. Anyone who wishes to help others, now is a good time. Love to all, Carol

Guest guest
Dear Carol I agree. I heard an interview of a relief worker yesterday on NPR. She said that countries who typically provide aid are waiting to give for politically driven motives. A great service would be a web site define those charities that truly do give to the needy rather than keeping most for themselves and their executives...or worse, financing the terrorists and perpetrators themselves. Do you know of any such site or relief organizations that get the aide directly to those in need? Thank you for another heart-centered post. c - Carolhook (AT) aol (DOT) com gjlist Wednesday, March 19, 2003 12:45 AM [GJ] Advancing brotherly love Dear Listmembers, I heard someone say that while Americans are very giving, the American public often waits until it sees the first sign of wounded before it is moved to give to established aid and relief organizations. Guest guest
Dear Cynthia, There may indeed be websites devoted to checking out the efficacy of various charitable organizations. These websites would of course have their own political agendas, you understand.. My great-uncle once told me that Salvation Army has helped many, many people all over the world, without politicizing. May all find that which resonates best within themselves.
