Guest guest
Dear Ron, It’s well know that ‘angularity’ in any chart- natal, event…- is the most important. And yes, it does make sense that planet which is malefic for the chart, as per jyotish chart, when angular would be harmful- that’s valuable tool, indeed. There is a tendency in western astrology, as you said, to consider Venus and Jupiter line the most beneficial ones- but it’s been questioned by many /Donna Cunningham, for ex/ already. I am surprised that you found Minor Progressions work, and ‘Majors’ don’t- Do you consider direct and conversed /majors/? They work, powerfully- Richard Houck had a very good reason to use them. Have you ever seen progressed planet conj. with an angle /MC, IC, ASC/DESC/ not working? Or Progr. Sun sign change not bringing tangible results? I haven’t. Yes MP, as a derivate of Majors, do work- effects are on the small scale- of course- perhaps, if you are studying events, MP, covering the short time span, will work better- as they are meant to work in small time frame, only. But it seems we are too much into western for this jyotish forum- important thing is that vedic adds valuable tool in interpreting initially western /valuable/ technique, as your experience seems to confirm. Guest guest
Anna, My main interest in astrology is trying to find what techniques work the most consistently. I have done extensive work on a number of areas, but I must admit I have never specifically set out to do large scale investigation of Majors. I suppose the reason for this is that they were the main source of prediction used in my Western training, and early on I found them unsatisfactory. Now this may have simply been due to my relative inexperience at that time. But the prejudice lingered, and was strengthened every time I occasionally glanced again at particular cases using secondaries. Yes I have looked at converse and have seen some good hits. However, I feel I must draw the line at using some techniques that have proven consistent for me; because I am only too aware that you can see anything you want to see by just about any method after the event. Unfortunately most of us astrologers are not aware of the subject of 'random effect'. Example. I could say something like: " I have examined the life of Queen Elizabeth II. I have looked at hundreds of events in her life and in her 77 years of living she has not died once. I therefore pronounce her immortal." Now this is a much stronger case than most of us astrologers bring to bear on our practice of astrology, but it is obviously wrong. It is simply an example of random effect which outcome even a child would recognize. Where we, and even many scientists have problems, is that there are many subtle circumstances clouding our discrimination. We do not see that we are being hoodwinked by the random effect. We tend to look at a particular astrological case with one technique and claim its viability when we have seen say three correct or near correct results, ignoring the equal number of misses. The "random effect" is of course compounded when we use a number of different techniques; hence I tend to jettison those that do not work consistently, whilst keeping an eye on those that seem to work better than others. I do this because in my ignorance there could be something I am not seeing on the misses. Guest guest
Dear Ron, More or less we all share your experience and concerns. We all expect more, than 'it's revealed to us'- you've seen accuracy of prediction with various techniques, on the List- tests.. Not impressive..But can certainly improve. For quick rewsult- MP work- but again, it's good if one has broader picture in mind/my experience/ with them too 'Big Progressions' act 'on their own will'/my experience/- when THEY 'want' to form an aspect- it always works- you just have to acknowledge what they say. And accept them as they are, for what they CAN offer- they cannot tell you that this week you'll socialize more- Minors can. And of course, failed predictions- one has to be modest and not get overly obsessed with making earth-shaking predictions, and make planets work in accordance with our will- they won't: WE are important predictive tool- and not always reliable- It would be easier for you, for ex. to 'accurately' interpret my chart than your own- you've certainly noticed that- one method, I am sure about that is not appropriate for everything- We all study jyotish here- because we see value in it. And the more we know, the better 'TOOL' we become. They /approaches/ all speak about the same Universe, in a different way. That's the beauty of our journey Of course, this is just my opinion. Good Luck, Anna RonGaunt [rongaunt] Sunday, February 23, 2003 5:48 PM gjlist Cc: sidereal Re: [GJ] ASG-Angular planets Anna, My main interest in astrology is trying to find what techniques work the most consistently. Guest guest
Ajay, Your horoscope attached plus that at the bottom of the page. The previous one, the time zone calculation was omitted from the calculation. It seems that your Saturn in the ascendant will take you high in your career but it being Saturn will drop u from the great height. It is its nature. Besides love marriage is indicated but be careful, separation due to the Saturn. Your dad! How is he? Regards. Babu. PS:If you wish I could tell you more with whatever I know. But there are others in the group more learned than I am. Perhaps, they will guide you. The OUTGOING & INCOMING emails are all scanned by the NORTON ANTIVIRUS PROGRAMME. - Ajay NagrechaSep 29,1969Time: 7:29PM Zone: 5:30 DST: 0Chennai IndiaLongitude: 80E17 Latitude: 13N05Lahiri Ayanamsa: 23:26 365.25 Day YearCurrent Period: Ra/Ke/Me As 09:58 Ar Aswini KeSu 12:49 Vi Hasta MoMo 29:07 Ar Krittika SuMa 11:47 Sg Mula KeMeR 12:25 Vi Hasta MoJu 20:45 Vi Hasta MoVe 14:25 Le P.Phalguni VeSaR 14:12 Ar Bharani VeRa 27:37 Aq P.Bhadra JuKe 27:37 Le U.Phalguni Su Vimshottari Dashas==================Su Sep-29-1969Mo Aug-23-1974Ma Aug-23-1984Ra Aug-24-1991Ju Aug-23-2009Sa Aug-23-2025Me Aug-23-2044Ke Aug-23-2061Ve Aug-23-2068 Rashi Chart******************************************************* ** * * ** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * 2 * * 12 * * * * * AS 09:58 * * * * 3 * SAR14:12 * 11RA 27:37* * * * MO 29:07 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * 1 * * * ** * * ** * 4 * 10 * ** * * ** * * * 7 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *VE 14:25 * * * * * *KE 27:37 5 * * 9 MA 11:47* * * * * * * * MER12:25* * 8 * * * * SU 12:49 * * * * * * JU 20:45 * * * * * * * * * * ** * * ** ******************************************************* Navamsa Chart******************************************************* ** * * ** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * MA * * 2 * * * VE *JU * AS * * * * SAR 5 * RA * 1 SU * * * * * * MER * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * 3 * * * ** * * ** * 6 * 12 * ** * * ** * * * 9 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * 7 * MO * 11 * * * * KE * * * * * 8 * * 10 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** * * ** ******************************************************* Vimshottari Dasha/Buktis========================Su/Ma Sep 29,1969Su/Ra Oct 17,1969Su/Ju Sep 11,1970Su/Sa Jun 30,1971Su/Me Jun 11,1972Su/Ke Apr 17,1973Su/Ve Aug 23,1973Mo/Mo Aug 23,1974Mo/Ma Jun 24,1975Mo/Ra Jan 23,1976Mo/Ju Jul 24,1977Mo/Sa Nov 23,1978Mo/Me Jun 23,1980Mo/Ke Nov 22,1981Mo/Ve Jun 24,1982Mo/Su Feb 22,1984Ma/Ma Aug 23,1984Ma/Ra Jan 19,1985Ma/Ju Feb 7,1986Ma/Sa Jan 13,1987Ma/Me Feb 22,1988Ma/Ke Feb 18,1989Ma/Ve Jul 18,1989Ma/Su Sep 17,1990Ma/Mo Jan 23,1991Ra/Ra Aug 24,1991Ra/Ju May 6,1994Ra/Sa Sep 28,1996Ra/Me Aug 5,1999Ra/Ke Feb 22,2002Ra/Ve Mar 12,2003Ra/Su Mar 12,2006Ra/Mo Feb 4,2007Ra/Ma Aug 5,2008Ju/Ju Aug 23,2009Ju/Sa Oct 11,2011Ju/Me Apr 24,2014Ju/Ke Jul 30,2016Ju/Ve Jul 5,2017Ju/Su Mar 5,2020Ju/Mo Dec 23,2020Ju/Ma Apr 24,2022Ju/Ra Mar 31,2023Sa/Sa Aug 23,2025Sa/Me Aug 26,2028Sa/Ke May 6,2031Sa/Ve Jun 14,2032Sa/Su Aug 15,2035Sa/Mo Jul 27,2036Sa/Ma Feb 25,2038Sa/Ra Apr 6,2039Sa/Ju Feb 10,2042Me/Me Aug 23,2044Me/Ke Jan 20,2047Me/Ve Jan 17,2048Me/Su Nov 17,2050Me/Mo Sep 23,2051Me/Ma Feb 22,2053Me/Ra Feb 19,2054Me/Ju Sep 7,2056Me/Sa Dec 14,2058Ke/Ke Aug 23,2061Ke/Ve Jan 19,2062Ke/Su Mar 21,2063Ke/Mo Jul 27,2063Ke/Ma Feb 25,2064Ke/Ra Jul 23,2064Ke/Ju Aug 11,2065Ke/Sa Jul 18,2066Ke/Me Aug 27,2067Ve/Ve Aug 23,2068Ve/Su Dec 23,2071Ve/Mo Dec 23,2072Ve/Ma Aug 23,2074Ve/Ra Oct 24,2075Ve/Ju Oct 23,2078Ve/Sa Jun 23,2081Ve/Me Aug 23,2084Ve/Ke Jun 24,2087 Ajay P.Nagrecha gjlist Monday, February 24, 2003 7:26 PM Re: [GJ] ASG-Angular planets Dear Babu, I must be sleepier than I thought, and bonking... this one has me awake and half dead. Guest guest
Dear Ajay, You need to propituiate Ra/Ka and Mer. It looks like you are passing through a difficult time. On March 12,2003 sub period of Venus in your present dasa of Rahu may bring you ease /or relief in the profession. I strongly advise you to start propituating Rahu asap. The remedial measure for Rahu is to feed Sweet Chapti fried to CROW everyday in the morning before you take your breakfast. Also, propituate Ketu and Mer. as well. With best wishes.............. Amar Puri. >"Babu" <babu__1 >gjlist ><gjlist> >Re: [GJ] ASG-Angular planets >Wed, 26 Feb 2003 21:24:50 -0000 > >Ajay, > >Your horoscope attached plus that at the bottom of the page. > >The previous one, the time zone calculation was omitted from the >calculation. > >It seems that your Saturn in the ascendant will take you high in your >career but it being Saturn will drop u from the great height. >It is its nature. > >Besides love marriage is indicated but be careful, separation due to the >Saturn. > >Your dad!
