Man arrested at Gatwick Airport5:44pm Thursday, 13th February 2003A man has been

arrested under the Terrorism Act at Gatwick Airport.The 37-year-old Venezuelan

national was believed to be carrying a live grenade after arriving on a flight

from Colombia, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.Part of the north terminal

has been closed in the alert.A police spokesman said: "Inbound flights are not

affected but there is some disruption to outbound flights."Tony Blair's

official spokesman said: "My understanding is there has been an arrest at

Gatwick."Asked about the partial closure of the airport the spokesman replied:

"My understanding is that may relate to an arrest."The spokesman made clear he

did not know whether there was any link between the arrest and the ongoing

security operation at Heathrow and around the capital.TV sports presenter Gaby

Logan is among the passengers stuck on planes in Gatwick.She told the ITV News

Channel: "We landed at about 3.15 and since that time we've been on the plane

and told that all the planes that have come in since 3pm have basically been

grounded."She said they were still waiting to hear when they would be let off
