Guest guest
Dear Visvanathan, "Autobiography of a Yogi" (page 124) gives Swami Sri Yukteswar's birth date as May 10, 1855 in Serampore. The time is not given, and I have not tried to establish a birth time. This date places Sun, Mercury, Rahu, Mars (plus Pluto and Uranus) in Aries. All are in Bharani, except for Pluto, which is in Ashwini. In particular, Rahu, Mars and Mercury are very close together (and close to the exact degree of my lagna). Interestingly, a couple of friends of mine who are also devotees of Yogananda have told me that they find Sri Yukteswar's pictures a little intimidating -- stern or even a little fierce -- compared to others in the SRF line of gurus, such as Lahiri Mahasaya. I'm sure the planetary connection to my lagna accounts for my intense feeling of connection with him and appreciation for the Aries nature. Paramahansa Yogananda was born on January 5, 1893 in Gorakhpur. I believe I have seen different lagnas given for him (both Leo and Libra). Best wishes, Trish Francis
