As for Leela's story, yes I agree with you she has given her opinion of what she heard. Sometimes we do not like what we hear and so we hold a bad opinion of the messenger rather than accept a difficult yet nevertheless truthful message. The claim of fraud and other spurious claims were way overboard and not called for. I count the outburst meant to discrediot another and all associated with him, as a measure of how disturbing the news must have been. Guest guest Posted January 20, 2003 Report Share Posted January 20, 2003 Dear Carol: No - Yogi did not tell me what I would have liked to hear in two respects but in two respects, he strongly supported what I wanted - that was not the problem - what was the problem was that I have had much the same and more detailed analyses from very ordnary or even amateur astrologers who did not claim for themselves what is claimed for Karve. If you are going to take someones advice on such important life decisions, dont you think you should have some faith in the advisors spiritual and psychic credentials and if their statments about ones past actions are wrong, then why would one believe their statements about the future? In all claims of the supernatural, I do remain alert for possibilities of fraud - no serious spiritual advisor would be upset by this alertness - I certainly did not cross examine or show Karve anything but sincere respect - it was only when I saw how he was constantly correcting himself and following what I said rather than offering anything of his own that I began to think he was either completely "off" on that day or not what he was being touted as. A careful recollection of the manner of the print out disappearing and so on convinced me there was enough room for deception for me to feel warranted in placing no credence in the whole thing. I have heard a negative prediction from a roadside astrologer quite blithely - it transpired as he said and to this day I give full credit to the man for his abilities. But he did not claim special spriitual status and he really did not have a horoscope around and was able to say everything from merely my giving him a birthtime. So, please do not assume that I am attacking astrologers or seers per se. I am just giving a truthful account of my experience. You still enjoy shooting the messenger and all who are near him. You did not ask those near him, "Did you show this printout to Karjevi?" but jumped to publicly paint a false picture due to dissatisfaction with what you heard.
