Virgo rising, with Jupiter aspected cruelly by Saturn in Cancer. The other benefic planet Mercury & the Sun are afflicted by Saturn. Mercury is combust in Amsa debilitated. Mars and the Moon are in Opposition. The day is Tuesday and ruled by Mrigasira, a Martian constellation. This is reminiscent of the Sept 11 planetary configuration. Jupiter is in the constellation of Pushya, ruled by Saturn. Mars is in war-like sign, Sagittarius Venus is in a Saturnine Sign and in opposition with Jupiter ( Venus- Jupiter opposition is considered as bad in classical astrological texts ). It is now time to move closer to God. These indications are bad for the the rulers and adverse for the IT industry. Since the Moon is in Gemini, it is quite possible that terrorists may furthur target the US. Financial institutions ruled by Venus may come under severe strain. Shipping industry will be affected considerably. IT industry may come under recession. Two of the largest democracies ( US and India ) may be affected. I would suggest a much more dangerous period is a week or so later. As you have related this to the USA, I use my rectified USA chart for the inauguration of the 1st President. relocated to Washington i.e 30th April 1789NS, 11:47:16 am, LMT +5:08:09 38N53'42", 077W02'12". The last Solar Return of 4th May 02 has exact Mars/Saturn/Rahu conjunction close opposition MC/Pluto/Ketu . This is very aggressive and suggests a confrontational year. The only saving grace is that this configuration is not tied in very strongly to the radical chart. Saturn has a wide orb of 5* to the Ascendant and Ketu aspects radical Mars 3*. It will be interesting to see whether this is sufficient to create a full blown war. Narrowing down the period I look at Lunar Returns. In the LR for 17th Jan 03 LR Asc comes close conjunction SR Mars and Saturn and LR MC exact opposition radical Asc, LR Rahu is approaching Rad Ketu and LR malefic Saturn aspects Rad Asc whilst exactly aspecting radical Mars. As Jupiter is an exalted malefic in the USA chart it can be very aggressive. This aggression is confirmed by LR Mars being afflicted conjunct natal Rahu. Transit Sun opposes and is afflicted by radical Jupiter from 16th Jan 03 and the following 5 days appear critical. This is almost a replay of the start of Desert Storm on 17th Jan 1991. Then Jupiter and the Sun were almost in the same position as they will be on 17th Jan 2003. Around the end of March and beginning of April is another critical period as transit Mars aspects radical Mars (always prominent in USA conflicts), and Rahu conjuncts Ketu. As Ketu is in the 11th house the stock market will possibly have had a large fall prior to this. In early July Malefic transit Jupiter conjuncts USA Asc. If war is delayed due to the arms inspections this is the most likely time for the hostilities to start.
