Guest guest
Andrew: "We are better off materially and finacially now...... In India and particulary Pakistan, children and women still suffer greatly and to think it was better in the past is a pipe dream. Bonded labour and child slavery are still rampant all over Asia. " D.: I'm glad someone got around to pointing this out. And that it wasn't me. And once again, I will say, go have a look at Sita Agrawal's piece on www.dalitstan.com under the on-line books section. She's writing of the philosopical views that she feels led to her sister's murder via satee by her in-laws in a dowry fight...goeds a bit over board in my opinion. I think the chick's in-laws were flat out psycohpaths using religion as a way to have their way. It isn't pointed out very often, either, that prostituition is rampant in Israel b/c there is no room much less work for the new arrivals from the Societ Union and other places. It's over crowed, expensive and jobs are hard o come by sometimes. I'm saying women have problems all over. Children too. Andrew: "It is a fact that many Indians and Asians would pack up and move to a western country in five minutes if given a chance. Our countries have welfare, health care, clean water, sanitation and a standard of living far superior to that found in their countries. That is a fact. .....Who wants wisdom if living in a rubbish bin??" D: No kidding. I've often wondered, why India is such a labyrinth, while Japan and China are so..organized? All those J & C ducks line up in a row., metaphorically speaking. The literacy rate is so much high in either of those countries, China and Japan. Why? Is it racial? Is it martial law in China? What? I wish it would rub off on the Indians, for their sakes..Sewers are great things to have aren't they? So is indoor plumbing. Why isn't there an Indian VISTA/PEACE CORP to deal with this? Why not inscription of young people instead of to the army to a WPA/CCC/ education for literacy programs, to build roads and sewers and decent living quarters and tolearn to read in exchange for education? Either for them or other family members? Hey, why not more or it here, too? Andrew: "The biggest problems in western countries are the people constantly bagging, carping and whining about their own country instead of being bloody grateful for the great standard of living they have. D: I think we're aiming for Utopia, so we kvetch. Nothing wrong with improvement Andrew. Unless it's compulsive, like always dumping out ash trays, I supose. Andrew: "Now India is a country of great spiritual wisdom for sure but so was ancient Scotland, France, Thailand, Cambodia etc etc." D: No argument there. But tell it to the Khmeer Rouge if any are left. They seem to have missed that point these days. So have the Burmese/Myramarians. Ever notice how the worls sorta divides into "we're the smartest, they're the smartest, so do evrything they do". And then ther'e the "who cares group." Andrew: "Material comfort is totally important in life." D: Yeah, Maslow's Pyramid. Food, shelter and clothing first, and then afte tht is settled, we have time to deal with the rest of it. I agree with Richard Houck and you too over the astrology importance, too. It so often feels like how many angles can cance on the head of a pin sort of thing? And you can't ge an accurate thing without a birthtime. You know, some peope--in one novel, and I doubt that it didn't happen--used to think just reading--no, just opening a Bible would keep you from catching a disease passsing through the air. When soap and water would have done better...I seriuosly wonder about medical astrology becasue of it. Better to study medicine, anatomy, Chinese or auyervedic or whatever that directly deals with it. Your birthday doesn't enter so much not it.Yes, it does some in those, however. .More your medical history. Empirical evidence. Keep eating your dark green veggies and the orange ones, A. Best Wishes, D.

I think > the chick's in-laws were flat out psycohpaths using religion as a way to > have their way. Look, I had this Indian boy come to me for a reading and I warned him about getting married. I told him his parents had too much control over him and he needed to break free of the shackles of his fathers hold on him. He was in his 30's!! Anyway, he returned to India and his parents forced him to marry this girl they had chosen for him. Local astrologers proclaimed this girl as his dream girl. To cut a long sordid story short, the moment she touched down in Melbourne she claimed this guy was bashing her and ran away to stay with relatives. She immediately took a restraining order against him and applied for residency on the grounds she was abused and could not return home because she would lose face etc. This is more common than people would like to admit and the usual flanker is the man is a dud and can't father children or is an abuser. This guy now feels a fool as he was just used to get a visa. He has Mars in the 8th house which can be a bad indicator for marriage in any chart. > It isn't pointed out very often, either, that prostituition is rampant in > Israel b/c there is no room much less work for the new arrivals from the > Societ Union and other places. It's over crowed, expensive and jobs are hard > o come by sometimes. I'm saying women have problems all over. Children too. I myself have a serious problem with the overseas Chinese in South East Asia. I am usually very tough in what I can take but some of the rampant exploitation I have seen from them has left me sick in the stomach. This is more so if it involves children. The way I see it, there are two types in the world,- givers or takers who will exploit anything or anybody in the name of a dollar. That is not to say we don't have this is our own countries (we have more than our share). The problem in Asia is simply the corruption where the wealthy and privileged just seem to feel they can do anything without any repercussions as they have everybody paid off. I remember 15 years ago catching the bus from South Thailand to Kuala Lumpar and I met these two young Thai girls of about 16 on the bus. They told me they were going to Singapore to work as domestic help for some Chinese family. They were with this old Chinese guy who I immediately saw as an evil exploiter like a rat with gold teeth. He was wearing a very expensive suit and posing as a respectable businessman type. He started to panic and sweat when he saw me talking with these two girls in the Thai language and tried to drag them away. These girls were totally innocent and I knew they were headed for sexual slavery. To complain to the Police would have probably got me arrested and not the old guy because the cops would have been getting a sling somewhere along the line. When the bus stopped at this old roadhouse I saw this Chinese guy go out the back for a slash and for the first time in my life I considered bashing someone as he was close to a Klong (creek). I wanted to bash and rob him, then throw him in the creek and use his money to pay for the two young girls to get back home. I still think to this day I should have done it. I would now for sure as I have enough influence from relatives to get me out of jail - especially for protecting local girls. Pundit Navaratnam has just called wanting me to come for a visit so I will cut this short. I could tell you many many stories like the one above and many are far worse than this. At every occasion it has been Chinese mafia types involved. I was actually run down and left for dead on the side of the road by a Triad bosses henchman. I fought a court case against this Chinese guy in Thailand that went for 10 years. He was the shiftiest slimiest person I have come across. Before the case was over he was murdered, his brother was murdered and then his son flew back from America and too was shot the day he got off the plane. I don't know who was behind it but now suspect it was his own partner ripping him off and trying to put the blame on us who were suing him. I could tell you so many other stories about Thailand and the Phillipines as a guy I know was in the palace with Marcos when he had to flee. The U.S had sent in a team of commandos to get them out and Marcos and Imelda were just trying to stuff as much cash and gold as they could into the helicopter. My mate said everybody was screaming at them to leave it and go as the bloodthirsty crowd was already storming the palace. Greed has no end with these types. Our society here in Australia fortunately is very vigilant and zealous at policing our politicions and business people. They still steal millions, but Marcos, Suharto, The Sultan and others take decadence to a very high level. Then there is the issue of who supports them and keeps them in power- and where all the stolen money ends up. Lets leave it at this and return to astrology. Every country and every race has its good and bad points. It is hypocrisy and denial of problems that concerns me about some Asian and Arab countries. In the west we at least take some steps at confronting the issues publically. There is a "head in the sand" approach in many Asian countries where the leaders claim the problems of the west do not exist in their countries. Utter nonsense..........
