Guest guest
Some absolutely brilliant superhero Christians believe George Harrison is now in -- guess where -- HELL! See the whole neanderthal story at: http://www.kingshouse.org/whereisgeorge.htm I think it is time to welcome these ladies and gents to the 21st century. While we're at it, we can also welcome the Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu and astrological fundamentalists (and their ilk everywhere) to same. (BTW, I find the non-Indian-born astrological fundamentalists to be typically just as militant and primitive as their hyper-Christian brethren.) Love and kisses, J.I. Guest guest
You've got me all wrong. I'm not about fundie cleansing. Rather, I think we should get them all jobs as actors in Hollywood B-movies, where they belong. I want to *help* these people. Guest guest
Thank you! Henceforth I will be posting various materials that highlight, lampoon, address and/or attempt to counter FB propoganda. One of many projects I will be working on in coming days is a series of tales concerning the escapades of the great FB pioneer DIRK W. TRUCK, American hero. To be continued. Sincerely, JIA In a message dated 11/23/2002 10:51:35 AM Eastern Standard Time, das (AT) goravani (DOT) com writes: A quote from the Fundamentalist Christian webpage about George going to hell: "All of what Mr. Harrison was taught and believed was a lie from the pit of Hell. Sorry, he was deceived by stupidity he was not very smart after all. Everything Hinduism teaches is contrary to the truth of God and Christianity." Well there you have it. Flat out racist hate from so - called Christians. If this is Jesus, Romans did the right thing with him. I think however, that this is not Jesus, but basic childish emotions of "I'm better than you". It's a person, or persons, with very low self love, very low awareness, very local consciousness, mouthing off as if they know something. Such persons obviously have no friends in India, have never been there, have never felt anything outside their own stupidity. Bonehead said: "Everything Hinduism teaches is contrary to the truth of God and Christianity."... "Careless sweeping generalizations of negativity are used by demons when describing races, cultures, religions and politics that they don't understand but that they think might be able to undo their own limitations of mind, in order to, they think, protect their very small nugget of understanding of life. If their understanding ever does grow, they will realize that others can and will add to it, and not take it away. In other words, the spiritual babies have little spiritual wealth, and little experience of contact, exchange, growth, and sharing. They therefore use all their personal power to protect a very small nugget of knowledge, and this shows up in the world as backwards, narrow, fundamentalism, and when and ever if such persons of small spirit are allowed to be in power of an army, such as in the case of Adolph Hitler, it shows up as Nationalism, Racism, Conquests, Mass Killing, and such things as the greatest horrors of history." (Das Goravani, from his own Bible) The fact is, George was not a person who was stupid. He was very much interested in, and desiring to serve, higher truths and spirit, God, the Creator, the Truth. This quest was very dear to him. Therefore he is wherever that has taken him. He is with the persons of that nature, and in the place befitting his next stage of development and service, which is where we all are all the time. Because of his stupid statements, the author of the non-sense about George will now be receiving subtle disapprroval, and that is his next stage of development, his next lesson set. We are all "working/karma" all the time, and getting the results of our particular works, karmas, actions, thoughts. This is always true for everyone. Bodies are vehicles with which we work in the world of work. Bodies are vehicles for spirits to interact "concretely" and as such they are a blessing, inasmuch as they show that we were accepted to the school, and are in the school, and thus we are learning. Being disembodied is another way of learning. Having a body is a very good way of learning the truths of God, for everyone, always. If embodied, the spiritual progress is being made. Whether passing a test with good marks, or being confined in the corner for "being bad", the student is always learning. Eternal Hell and so forth are limited conceptions for controlling illiterate masses who are fearful and uneducated. Therefore, they are becoming very outdated modalities of religious understanding in an age when literacy and communication are growing, not shrinking. Despite whatever is being said about illiteracy and poverty, it's nothing today as compared to many times in the past of the Earth. The fact is, we the humans on Earth are, as a group of souls, evolving and developing constantly throughout history, and that is the purpose of life, and that is happening, and it's evident to me, clearly, just based on reviewing history in a sweeping way, watching key indicators such as the size of racist conquests and overt exploitation of groups of people. The meer fact that genocide is often stopped by other nations, that large scale cheating and exploitation has to be "covered up" and hidden, these are good indicators, because they show that caring, communication, essentially light shining on darkness, have grown and spread from past levels. This is proof of the Hindu conception of life. I liked the post by John Melka on the 50's in America, which I could relate to. Even in 50 years, the consciousness of American's has improved tremendously in the direction of respect for all. Just look at this simple fact. There is equality based on "Human Rights" much more so than a meer 50 years ago. This is a fact, and as one who grew up in Oakland California, a heavily ratially mixed area, I can attest to this fact. I met the old timers in my youth who were still calling ALL Africans bad names, and who blanketly hated them without any real reason to have such hate whatsoever. They've died off, and they've not been replaced. Nobody talks like that there anymore, and everone lives much more racially mixed today. When I was a kid, I never saw a person who was half African and half European. Nowadays it's very common. Gays and Lesbians no longer need to completely hide their natures in society, and they have been a part of society since forever as well. George was a very sensitive person, who loved God and was not judgemental, easily traveled amongst all peoples, and was not on an ego trip at all. He was real, humble, didn't see himself or the Beatles as anything great, and was very much interested in cherishing everyone and all moments of life. He was over sensitive if anything, and haunted by lack of ability to fulfill his own dreams for his own spirituality, like most of us. There was nothing wrong with George, and I imagine that he will be born into a situation whereby he will be very well able to fulfill his spiritual development at a higher level than most souls, if he wasn't liberated to the eternal realm if such exists in this way of "liberating" dear souls. In general, Hare Krishna devotees let down their strictness at the times of the deaths of dear people, and simply say, "He was so dear to Krishna that he probably was taken home". He was a soft and loving person. This is what is key. I hope that the Christian types who have such beliefs as what we've witnessed in the website posted by Jesse never achieve any power anymore, and that they themselves experience a broader, happier, more loving and peace spreading mood about them, for truly, to express that the religion of millions of people is pure hogwash is surely summarily arrogant, stupid, illiterate, uneducated, hate spreading, war causing, and so many other negative adjectives I haven't the space to type them all. Guest guest
(BTW, I find the non-Indian-born astrological fundamentalists to be typically just as militant and primitive as their hyper-Christian brethren.) I'm glad there is someone to pass the baton to in the fight against fundamentalism. I have had a gutfull of it and will in future spend my time reading or researching astrology rather than indulging in long winded over-intellectual conversations with people who have become zealots. If we followed Parashara rigidly and literally we would be marrying our daughters at 11 years of age and endlessly looking for the elephants we are supposed to possess. People just can't seem to see a principal given and interpret it a realistic manner in regards to the modern industrial society they live in. I did a chart for a woman this week who was born in Leo with retrograde Saturn within 1 degree of the lagna cusp. Saturn was minutes from being totally stationary. Saturn was a powerful significator of the 8th house by being in nakshatra of exalted Venus in Pisces who was in sookshma with Saturn by being in his nakshatra too. Rahu was also in lagna. When she went into Rahu/Saturn period and entered Sade Sati at the same time, she was struck with sudden terrible illness where she had her colon removed and two further operations. Try telling a person who has gone through all this to "go feed black crows on a Saturday from an iron pot" I know who will be wearing an iron bar LOL. Recently we have had on this list the usual western astrology converts trying to reform Saturn and give us the old line that everything that happens to us should be seen as a blessing etc. Try telling that to another woman who consulted me this week. Her Saturn turned stationary by tertiary progression and BOTH her parents died. This is Saturn at its nastiest and although we want to give some esoteric meaning of wonder to these things, in reality it is suffering and sorrows that Saturn brings when it bites. To try to sugar coat Saturn I feel is not right. Sure he may bring wisdom and renunciation but what he destroys to give it is usually catastrophic to the person in question. Then there is the real question. How do you determine if a Saturn is functionally benefic or malefic in a chart? How do we know when he will strike? Maybe the crow feeders can tell us ........ Guest guest
Dear Andrew I may well be one of those Western sugar coaters in your view. My statement was simple: To tell someone that they will suffer the pains of birth without ever mentioning that there will be a baby at the end is, to my mind, missing the point. I have had several clients who were simply told that Saturn would bring them suffering. No information regarding the nature of the lessons or gifts of Saturn. Nothing about the depths of feeling and sensitivity that erupts during this period. Nothing about the sense of hopelessness that often results in a deeper appreciation of what is rather than what you want. Saturn shows you the truth. There may indeed be great losses, but as an astrologer I have the opportunity to look at the chart and see where the knot is and offer simple tasks:Saturn always appreciates manual work or a simple task to help one move through the period. To simply say yes you are suffering and it will continue for 7 1/2 years is unconscionable. At the very least it is not what my clients come to me for. They know that they are in pain, they come to me to help them set up a structure or vessel to navigate that pain. If all my job was to tell people that Saturn is coming I would feel like Chicken Little in the story crying that the sky is falling! It will fall on you for 7 1/2 years, in another 5 years it will fall again for another 5 years, and again and again. A person will not lose his parents in every Saturn transit. Often Saturn to the Moon or Sun will herald the loss of a parent when the parent is old it is more likely than when young. An astrologer needs to help people rebuild as well as grieve. cynthia: a pragmatist, not a fundamentalist

Guest guest
This is How wars are started! Better to take Gandhi's attitude and pray for them. I think that this is wrong. I put Krishna and Arjuna above Gandhi, and the same from other ancient cultures. Jesse is exposing those who are wrong. He is not the wrong. The hater is the wrong, the sweeping judger of entire other cultures is wrong. Jesse is the peace maker, his keyboard the drum of awareness. Imagine if Hitler were alive today, beginning his thing... and Jesse was exposing him worldwide- is that bad? Is prayer and pacifism sometimes just head burying and cowardice? I think so. For bringing some peace to Muslim/Hindu battle in mid last century India, Gandhi was the ticket perhaps. It's not always the right approach everywhere always. There are 5 main planets, and we all have these five fingers, five planets, inside of us. One of them rules martiality, and there is good and bad application of same. Good Mercury and Good Mars combine together to make Good Forewarning of Danger from bad enemies of mankind. Jesse is one of those. He's a spirited and good hearted journalist at this point, you could say, and satirization of the enemies of mankind is a good thing to be done, much better than journalling about Brittny and Justin's latest breakup. ;-) Peace through right action, rick/das

Guest guest
There is an ancient Arabic proverb that deals with this: "He who knows, and knows not that he knows, is asleep, wake him! "He who knows not, and knows not that he knows not, is a fool, shun him! "He who knows not, and knows that he knows not, is ignorant, instruct him! "He who knows and knows that he knows, is wise, follow him!" IMHO, fundamentalists fall into the second and third category (and they think I do also). This means that constructive dialog can teach both some answers. And solves the second proverb: "Keep your friends close, your enemies closer." -- John *********** REPLY SEPARATOR ***********On 11/23/02 at 8:29 AM Das Goravani wrote: This is How wars are started!
