Guest guest
Dear Group, I have been very interested in the discussion on compatibility and the wise answers and advice given. I love the mix of all of your different backgrounds and approaches. This is what makes for the rich exchanges that I love so much. I have a similar question with a friend of mine. We want to know if our charts are compatible. We both have had mostly solitary lives and are almost ready to try with each other. There is a lot of fear present. The current transits are difficult with the transiting nodes conjunct his asc-desc. axis and conj. his Sun. I also have the transiting nodes conj. my Venus opp. Saturn. My Saturn is conj. his Sun in the natal charts. So the nodes are activating this point. Transiting Uranus is nearly conj. my desc. and transiting Uranus is squaring his Venus in the Western chart. It feels like an important passage and we both don't want to blow it. There is a sense of deep commitment building but also an uncertainty. We would appreciate any feedback if this is a good match. We both have a serious spiritual life and have had years of inner work. Inner work is of course endless and we would appreciate any advice so we may work through this hurdle in the most conscious way. I think that I am running Ketu/ Saturn Dasha. Thanks is advance. Guest guest
Hi April, I think this is a good match, although as with most partnerships, there are pitfalls that one has watch out for. To me, the very best connections are those that involve the 1st house of one person and the 7th house of another. You have these going on with your charts. Your lagnesh Sun is exactly opposite his 7L Mars -- a fabulous aspect! What's more, his Moon is also very close to an opposition to your Sun, which is great in its own terms, but made all the better by virtue of the the Sun's rulership over your first house, and hence your whole chart. He can emotionally relate to you as a whole person. Also your 7th lord Saturn is conjunct his lagnesh Venus, with only an 8* orb. I pay attention to orbs, so the smaller they are, the closer the fit is between people. Less than 3* is very strong, but any sign hits involving 1-7 lords are significant. As you say, your nodes fall right across his lagnesh-7th cusp. This is fine by me because your nodes are well adjusted; your Ketu on his Asc is also conjunct Venus in Taurus in your chart. That wild card/weird element of Ketu is sort of tied off or focused by having Venus in its own sign there. It's nice. Your spiritual side is welcomed by him. Your Saturn and Rahu on his 7th brings strong loyalty but also makes more problems in the bedroom. There is a possibility that you are running on different voltages as far as sexual energy goes (no surprise maybe: he's a 220V from Spain and you're a 110V from the US!). Because he has that tight Venus-Pluto square in his chart, he's likely more highly sexed that you are. Your Saturn Rahu on his 7th reinforces this idea. I don't think this is a deal breaker, but I think it is an issue than if you haven't already had a frank talk about, you should definitely address it as honestly as you can. Also, there is a very close 6-8 house hit between his Saturn and your Venus. This also creates close bonds but the danger here is that he, as the Saturn person, will tend to control you, as the Venus person. So addressing these control issues would also be something I would watch out for before you tied the knot. But really, there are some great ties here. You've known his a while I guess, so I would move ahead. If you want some ideas for good dates to get married, feel free to email me. Guest guest
Dear Chris, I was intrigued by your answer. You have definitely pointed out exactly some of our issues. By me having Saturn Rahu in his seventh, do you think he feels like I am 120 volts or that this is how I am for him in reality. Do you see this as an area that can be worked on? We do have a very amazing connection on so many levels so far. A rare one indeed. The best for both of us so far, by far. Nothing is perfect of course. But the two weak points you have named. I was wondering if any one else has had this sort of mis-match and have been able to find a satisfactory compromise. I work with a lot of clients and I have found that there are a large percentage of them that have a minimal sex life or non at all and that most of them say that the whole subject is over- rated and presented as a Hollywood myth in our culture and have ruined many good relationships in other ways by trying to live up to this standard. Any comments from the rest of the list. Thanks so much Chris for your accurate and helpful comments. By me having Saturn Rahu in his seventh, > do you think he feels like I am 120 volts or that this is how I am for him > in reality. Do you see this as an area that can be worked on? Yes, certainly it is something that can be worked on, discussed, and improved. I'm not sure if I can distinguish between your other question about how he sees you however. Perception is all there is in a relationship. They are subjective experiences by nature. "Reality" -- or how we "really" are, is nothing more than an average I think. That is what gives rise to the notions in the natal chart that we extrapolate on. Our reality to another person -- how they see us -- is closely linked to the interconnection between the two charts. The other person may be aware of the "average" and how we might deviate from it, but it takes second place to the dynamic that exists between the two charts, especially with repeated or more personal interaction. Your natal chart doesn't really show that you are undersexed or anything like that. But as far as your relationship with him goes, that is a real possibility. Also, the fact that he may be running on a higher voltage doesn't necessarily mean that it's all a question of frequency -- he wants it more. It can also mean that he simply places a greater priority on a satisfying sexual relationship, whereas for you it may not be uppermost in your mind. And because he's got that Venus-Pluto square, it might also mean that he is interested in exploring his sexuality more than the "average" person. We do > have a very amazing connection on so many levels so far. A rare one > indeed. The best for both of us so far, by far. Nothing is perfect of > course. But the two weak points you have named. Any > comments from the rest of the list. This is an interesting point. On one hand I am tempted to say that these people may be in a state of denial. Sex is an unhappy thing for them, so they blame the society around them for this unhappiness. OTOH, I am very sympathetic to the notion that the media onslaught is very much behind all the feelings of inadequacy that many people are feeling these days. At no previous time in history have people been subjected to so many images of beauty, so realistically depicted. Comparison is a natural reaction, and most people come up short. And with so much sexualized images in the media, this compounds the sense of inadequacy even more. More and more people are chasing an idealized image or state of permanent orgasm. Many of these folks would be well advised to turn off their TVs, and stop buying into all the advertising the see. Chris > Thanks so much Chris for your accurate and helpful comments. Guest guest
Dear Chris, I agree with your comments. I will let you know what happens. Overall I feel very encouraged. One day if it comes to that I will ask you for a Good Wedding moment. Thanks for your help. It is clear what to work on and look out for.
