Guest guest
I don't what's going on but I send mail and it doesn't show up here...is this your being an editor, Das, or is it the computer workings, or am I sending stuff that is virus loaded--from the site as green_gita???? Cynthia, I am clueless on whether or not any of the macrobiotic remedies would work for you, but I had written down in a general way previously that for female problems--again this is general stuff-- cut out flour products, and all fat including dairy in the diet. Had leafy greens. \like two severving minimum a day. Add whole grains--like millet--cooks in 20 minutes and tastes kinda like cornbread, or short grain rice. Another specific for women's problems is black soy beans. There's a macro center in Dallas. I haven't been there in about 15 years. When i went it was full of sick peole (duh) with cancer who were not very happy. Austin howver has a healthy and fun population of macros at their center, or at least they did, again years ago when I was there. It's a nice gentle way to ALLOW your body to heal itself. I have all kinds of funky reations to even herbla meds, too, I know where you're coming from. The macro centers often have pot luck dinners on a monthly basis. ..And sometimes it can feell ike a cult in there, ie, being from Oklahoma, which is a southern state and insiude women here do have very similar --generalizqtion, okay?-prsonalities to women in Texas, we're just a little quieter...so we're still opinionated abouyt whatever. With the ideal of japanese womanhoo held so loftily--ie the quiest ness and demureness, which really isn't in my genes anyway, I was constantly feeling subtley put down for my Anglo-Irish-Oklahoman energy bank....if that makes any sense. Macrobiotics is very Buddhist in outlook: the middle path of eating. Looks a lot like the USDA food pyramid, actually, just add sea vegetables. Mreat, lots of it, esp beef, if you're doing that, and fried and baked foods will cause energy to...condense and put more pressure on you, so does lots of salt..on one hand lots of energy is good, right? Sometimes it's just funny and entertaining being around the macro people, like when one much older woman I knew in Kansas City walked over to my table , having seem me for a few months at the restaurant say, "Okay, so what're YOU sick with???" Another guy, when asked by my friend and patron, "how are you today, Steve?" he said, "Well, I'm discharging egg," instead of the usual "Fine, thank you." And I'm going to say again what I said before and had edited: having a hysterectomy at 19 is bullshit. I was just reading an article saying that up to 70% of the hysterectomies recommended are..recommended wrongly. Three days of being curled up is still better that all month every month of being curled up. It's also better than a surgically induced menopause , with the accompanying hot flashes, and brittle bones at age 19. I have my old note books and some cool recipes done by a former french chef in minneapolis who wnt macor if you'd like to see them..write privately. And what the hell does KYU stand for anyway?? All the best, Denisee
