Guest guest
Dear List, I have found time and time again that the use of Nodal aspects (5th/7th/9th) for BOTH Rahu and Ketu have worked time and time again (e.g. in the TR posts I just put up). Interesting that they should share the same aspects (5/7/9) as the Guru planet, Jupiter. Is there any information as to why this is? Guest guest
Vyam Vyaasadevaaya Namah Dear Sateesh, There need not be any aspect. A general rule, is that planets transiting in the 5th, 9th, 7th or 12th from a house/planet/pada, may influence the the same. This is given in standard texts. Interesting that they should share the same aspects (5/7/9) as the Guru planet, Jupiter. Is there any information as to why this is? I don't know anything scriptural or "for sure", but it strikes me that this is therefore half the houses exactly, which is alot, and thus arguably, too much. In any case, Jupiter and Moon have a strong relationship, ie, the exaltaton and Swakshetra of them is Cancer. The nodes ARE from the Moon. They are related to the Moon. What affects her affects Guru. They share alot. They are, arguably, the most caring planets, and the nodes represent the friction caused by the Sun's effects on the Moon's caring for Earth. The nodes are where the Sun, Earth, and Moon align. You know how fathers sometimes interfere with motherly ways? Ever heard "Why don't you back me more in front of the kids!?". Woman often end up saying this or vice versa, tween husbands and wives that is. It strikes me that that is the classical nodal reality in life. 5 and 9 represent Laksmi Shtanas, again, related to Mother, mothering. Jupiter is right there with mother and mothering. Over jupiterizing someone means to over protect them, which is alot like the impulse of Moon, and Cancer. So I believe the link is in the fact that these entities, Moon, Jupiter, and the Nodes, are all a part of the non-ego caring side of God, the feminine side, whereas the Nodes are not nice, but the points where this impulse clashes with the Male Sun and it's approach to running things for Earth, the child. das
Guest guest
Dear Das, Thanks for this. As to your point on the Nodes therefore impacting a huge 6 out of 12 houses (I see your point), some schools of thought reduce this to 4 instead - that is - Rahu has the aspects, and "headless" Ketu only impacts its house of placement, and cannot "see" 5/7/9 ahead of it as it is "blind". I've found that both Nodes having aspects *seems* to work - but I'm open to further views. Cheers - Sateesh. ======== - Das Goravani gjlist Sunday, October 06, 2002 2:35 PM Re: [GJ] Nodal aspects "Sateesh Batas" <I">makara (AT) ntlworld (DOT) com>I have found time and time again that the use of Nodal aspects (5th/7th/9th) for BOTH Rahu and Ketu have worked time and time again (e.g. in the TR posts I just put up). Guest guest
In Conventional Astrology Jupiter has 5th and 9th besides 7th , Saturn has 3rd and 10th besides 7th and Mars has 4rth and 8th besides 7th. All other planets has 7th aspect. Rahu and Ketu are not planets. Not to talk about head or tail they are strong point influencing/indicating Time/kaal factor and renunciation. In Nadi planets located in same direction result in one combination, for example planets located in Aries, Leo or Sagittarius will form one combination and even in transit nodes or planets influence 5th and 9th house very strongly. I do not agree with 7th aspect for rahu or ketu because 7th has already been considered by placing opposite to Rahu or Ketu. regards, Inder Jit Sahni House No. 1351-HIG, Model Town, Phase-1, Bhatinda-151001 Pb.<India>hanskpvedic - Sateesh Batas GJ List Sunday, October 06, 2002 6:37 PM [GJ] Nodal aspects Dear List, I have found time and time again that the use of Nodal aspects (5th/7th/9th) for BOTH Rahu and Ketu have worked time and time again (e.g. in the TR posts I just put up). Guest guest
Dear Inder Jit I miss spoke and I do agree with you about the 7th aspect. I should have said 1, 5, 7 It is impossible for me to see example, Rahu's influence when Ketu is transiting except to say that when I had Ketu transiting my Moon, perceptions, I had loads of anxiety. It was as if I had Ketu's lesson to find faith with Rahu's compulsive grasp onto whatever the perception was at the time. I've noticed this with clients, the Ketu 5,9 aspect appears to be more purely Ketuian and the conjunction seems to have much more intensity as if the great serpent itself were struggling with the lesson. My only foile to a ketu transit: the antidote to fear is faith. Ketu conjoined a planet often brings intense irration fears and one must reach for faith to find peace. c - Inder Jit Sahni gjlist Sunday, October 06, 2002 10:55 AM Re: [GJ] Nodal aspects In Conventional Astrology Jupiter has 5th and 9th besides 7th , Saturn has 3rd and 10th besides 7th and Mars has 4rth and 8th besides 7th. Guest guest
Dear Cynthia, Should that read 1/5/9 rather than 1,5,7 ? Also, S.A. states that the TYPE of lesson from Ketu is harsher but more short-sharp (in fact like Mars and Sun) - and Rahu's is more long and drawn out although not quite so intense (like Saturn). Guest guest
Yes, 1,5,9 Sorry too little sleep lately. I don't know, Ketu's lessons seem pretty long and drawn out to me great grins. I suspect that Rahu is more stubborn and tenacious so it takes longer to surrender. That is ultimately what I believe they bring us to....surrender. BTW, Mercury stations today so the list should settle back down. Das, what is the chart of the list? Any nodal transits? c c - Sateesh Batas gjlist Sunday, October 06, 2002 12:21 PM Re: [GJ] Nodal aspects Dear Cynthia, Should that read 1/5/9 rather than 1,5,7 ?
